President Obama’s accelerating abandonment of principle
    By Liz Peek - Published February 28, 2013 - FoxNews.com

How ironic is the recent news that President Obama engages in crony capitalism and that he doesn’t always play by the rules?

Our righteous president has often leveled such charges against America’s corporate leaders, suggesting they skirt the law of the land, and that the playing field is not level for ordinary people. How disappointing then to find a pattern of favoritism and hypocrisy emerging from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

The most recent revelation concerns health insurance exec Sara Horowitz, who recently won a tax-free $340 million federal loan to set up insurance co-ops in three states as part of the ObamaCare program. This, despite the fact that her company, Freelancers Insurance, has earned distinction as the “worst” insurer two years in a row in her home state of New York and that the firm has been pummeled with unusually high consumer complaints.

President Obama's “do what I say not what I do” tendency threatens his credibility.

Why would such a dismal performance find favor with the feds? Maybe because Ms. Horowitz and President Obama go way back – back to before the latter was a player on the national scene. Back to when she and Obama together launched liberal think tank Demos along with George Soros, jointly joined that outfit’s board, and before Obama’s caretakers managed to get the record of that alliance scrubbed from Demos’ website. Ms. Horowitz and Mr. Obama are long-time cronies.

This is perhaps small beans. But it is part of a “do what I say not what I do” tendency on the part of Mr. Obama that threatens his credibility.

Consider the emergence of Organizing for Action (OFA), a super PAC in all but name that will lobby for the president’s agenda using his former campaign staff and monies donated by rich supporters. Some $50 million is expected to be raised by the outfit, which will make it, according to the New York Times, one of the best funded lobbying groups in the country.

Nearly everything about this group, from its staffing by Obama apparatchiks to its tax-exempt status to its solicitation of funds from folks looking to become ambassadors, flies in the face of the president’s former condemnation of such secretive influence-peddlers.

Because the group is being set up as a tax-exempt “social welfare group” it is, as the Times points out, not bound by rules that govern federal campaign limits or that preclude Obama aides from raising money. The paper concludes that the new organization will “self-regulate.” Just like hedge funds.

What does this mean? It means that the White House can solicit large gifts from private individuals and from corporations to help advance Mr. Obama’s priorities, without having to play by campaign finance rules.

Organizing for Action has already spent $500,000 funding rallies in support of gun control efforts and will doubtless bus supporters to applaud future appearances by Mr. Obama when he speaks out in favor of immigration control or climate change. This kind of thing happens in North Korea and Venezuela, where despots hire cheering audiences; I’m not aware that it has happened in the U.S. before.

OFA claims on its website that it will not engage in partisan politics, yet one of its first moves was to launch a costly national ad campaign targeting GOP lawmakers in support of gun control legislation. It is sailing, shall we say, close to the wind. So is President Obama.

The president has been especially critical of corporate fund-raising. Who can forget his unprecedented attack on the Supreme Court for its decision allowing corporate campaign donations in the Citizens United case? Obama 2.0 has no such qualms. Not only were corporations "invited” to fund the second inaugural party, they are also being solicited for OFA.

President Obama has switched ponies not only on financial matters. Contrary to his early criticism of Bush 43’s alleged power grabs in the name of anti-terrorism, Obama’s administration has invoked the so-called state secrets privilege to counter lawsuits over warrantless wiretapping – defenses political commentator and former cable news anchor Keith Olbermann called “radical doctrines of executive secrecy which Bush used.”

The president’s use of drones to kill American citizens, and refusal to turn over documents explaining the legal justification for such adventures, also echo Bush policies he once denounced.

While the president appears comfortable with his access to high-tech assassinations, he apparently doubts that successors will use those same powers for the best interests of the nation. It has emerged that in the months leading up to the election, the White House toiled over codifying presidential use of targeted drone killings, just in case he was not reelected.

Campaigner Obama accused President George Bush of exerting excessive authority to wage war; Obama’s refusal to get authorization from Congress to intervene in Libya is thought by many to have been unconstitutional.

In 2007 he also described Bush 43’s use of executive orders as “an unacceptable abuse of power at home.” This from the man who, because he is so inept at negotiating with Republicans and even Democrats in Congress, has spawned an increasing number of executive orders on issues ranging from cyber security to gun control to immigration policy. When Obama promised to “reach across the aisle,” no one expected his reach to extend across both aisles.

Presidents react with frustration to the limits of their power. They also change course once in office. But President Obama’s accelerating abandonment of principle is profound, and keenly disappointing.

JOE OTTO OP ED- HARSH REALITY

There are 300 million people plus in the US. Roughly 65 million people voted for Obama (if you take into account all the deceased people, illegal voters and voting regions that reported a 120%+ voter turnout). 60 million people voted for Romney by comparison. There are roughly 47 million people on welfare. Of that approximately 20% have been on welfare for 5+ years. Additionally almost 27% have been on welfare for 2-5 years (http://www.statisticbrain.com/welfare-statistics/). Meaning that nearly 47% of the people on welfare or 22 million have been on welfare for a vast majority of Obama's administration. Are you starting to do the math? Perpetually unemployed make up statistically 30% of the number of voters for Obama. The average spent on a family of three in 2010 according to the Policy Analysis by CATO (Published April 11, 2012, "The American Welfare State How We Spend Nearly $1 Trillion a Year Fighting Poverty—and Fail" http://www.cato.org/doc-download/sit.../pdf/PA694.pdf) is over $59,000 a year. So why again would they go get a job? Would it not serve us better to take $59,000 a year and develop a job program that forces them to work as a requirement for benefits? Additionally, who would oppose drug testing for those receiving assistance? Shouldn't there be conditions to a free ride if that is what we are going to provide? Wait, there is more...

Now of the states that reported the largest number by percentage of voters for Obama, do you care to know how many of those states register in the "Top 10 Hourly Wage Equivalent Welfare States in U.S.? All of them... Are you hearing me? ALL OF THEM!

Now lets talk about the disparity between our senior community and the perpetually unemployed. Seniors receive approximately $14,000 average a year in Social Security Benefits. Additionally they receive approximately $15,000 in additional benefits such as Medicare and healthcare. Seniors however pay into the system for 30-40+ years to receive those benefits. So unemployed you receive today over 4 times what someone who worked for 40+ years receives after paying into the system all of their adult lives. Did anyone ask, who is going to pay for those people in 30-40 years when they are still perpetually unemployed?

What is my point? We have abandoned the working people of this country whose backs this country was built on, to cater to a increasingly large number of people who only want a free ride. That is my point. We have allowed our mothers, grandmothers, fathers, grandfathers, to suffer after pouring their soul into the country they now see evaporating into something that is hardly recognizable. The congressmen and women get free pensions, lifelong Cadillac healthcare programs, and countless fringe benefits and all they have to do is win a group of people by promising them free benefits and driving them to fear that a vote against them will trigger a loss of those benefits. Psychology 101... When the fear of personal loss is greater than the perceived benefit of the whole, the fear of personal loss will nearly always prevail. That is why we lost the election...

We are driven in this country by chaos and white noise. We fail to see truth as it should be seen, as truth. We ignore the logical reality to cater to a uneducated and entitled group of people who frankly, want what they want. We have caved and we have compromised. It is those compromises that have compromised the character of our country and until we come to the conclusion that there is no other option other than to fight, we will continue to be helplessly frustrated and angry at the degradation of our society. It will take Americans who value commitment and hard work, with a social conscience that is tempered with accountability, and a willingness and dedication to make sacrifices to see the fight to the end. Many would say that these are harsh words. I would say there is no harsher words that could overshadow the daunting reality we face.

Liberal influences, corrupt judges and politicians, lobbyists and special interest groups have run amuck on the people of this country. They represent the minority (yet the majority of the reason for our woes as a country) and until the majority begins to value their voice and stand together as that majority, the minority will continue to thrive. They have bullied, lied and manipulated the masses to a bitter end. I for one believe that benefits are earned, not given. Sure there are people out there who need help, and to those, we will always offer a charitable hand. What we have today however is not charitable. It is egregious entitlement.

While the working families of this country plow the fields for 80+ hours a week, while raising children and meeting the growing demands of legislation of this country, the government, its leadership and the selfishly entitled stand on the sidelines and bask in the sun, reaping the rewards of our hard work. There is no other reality that I could perceive. There is no other option to that reality other than to come together, set aside our ideological differences and concentrate on the fundamentals. We must fight. And now we must find a way to break the division that the rats have developed between the majority. Personally I think it starts with our Seniors. They must un-retire their wisdom, use the time they have to come together and organize effectively the masses. They represent the best chance for us to win this fight. The question is, can we get them to un-retire their wisdom and lead on the front lines? I think we can, and I think we must.

Once Again, Obama Suggests That Laws Don’t Apply to Him
    1:30 PM, Mar 6, 2013 • By JEFFREY H. ANDERSON

President Obama has grown fond of saying that he’s “not a dictator,” “not a king,” and “not the emperor,” but is instead “the president.” Whether his tendency to clarify a seemingly obvious point reveals his inner desires or not, his actions in a variety of ways suggest that he doesn’t think the president shares his fellow citizens’ ongoing obligation to obey the law. To the contrary, he seems to view the president as being somewhat above the law.

The latest example involves Obama’s legal obligation to submit a budget by the first Monday in February. We’ve now passed the first Monday in March, yet there’s no indication that Obama intends to submit a budget anytime soon.

According to the House Budget Committee, in the 88 years from 1921 through 2008 (the year that President George W. Bush submitted his final budget), the president was a full week late submitting his budget only four times. Obama has now single-handedly matched that mark. In fact, Obama now holds the modern (1921-onward) presidential records for most times being a week late in submitting a budget (4, shattering the previous record of 1), most times being a month late in submitting a budget (2, breaking the previous record of 1), and most times being three months late in submitting a budget (1, breaking the previous record of 0).

Overall, Obama’s on-time rate in submitting a budget is 20 percent. In comparison, every other president from Warren G. Harding through George W. Bush had an on-time rate of at least 67 percent. Most had an on-time rate of 100 percent.

Again, this is a legal obligation that Obama is refusing to fulfill. Most Americans can’t get away with refusing to fulfill their legal obligations, or with considering themselves to be above the law. Of course, most Americans also can’t get away with having $7 and spending $11, which is what the federal government has done under Obama.

SI names Obama among the 50 most powerful people in sports
    By Doug Powers • March 9, 2013 04:05 PM

Sports Illustrated has named President Obama the 44th most powerful person in sports. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/mai...-in-sports/44/

    44 — get it? http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/21/us...anted=all&_r=0

POTUS might be the ultimate global power player, but he also wields significant influence in the Republic of Sports. One relevant riff — on his NCAA tourney picks, on his desire for a college football playoff, on his concern over permitting the sons that he doesn’t have to play football — and the sports world takes notice. Plus, the 51-year-old can shoot the J.

Congressman: ‘We Are Going From Catastrophe to Catastrophe, And That’s Really How This President Operates’

    Posted on March 12, 2013

Oklahoma freshman Rep. Jim Bridenstine told The Daily Caller that he hasn’t witnessed normal congressional procedure since he took office in January.

“I’ve been here a month and a half, so, interestingly, I have not seen regular order since I’ve been here,” Bridestine told TheDC’s Ginni Thomas. “Everything is an emergency. Whether it’s raising the debt limit, which we did, which I voted against; whether it’s emergency relief for the Hurricane Sandy victims; whether its the National Flood Insurance Program; whether its the Violence Against Women Act. No matter what it is we are voting on, there is no regular order, there is no committee process that I have seen whereby these bills come up. The Senate passes it and we bring it to the floor and vote on it. Getting back to regular order is what we need to do.”

“As a freshman, I’d like to see how regular order works, instead of making everything an emergency that has to be voted on right now” he added. “It seems like we are going from catastrophe to catastrophe, and that’s really how this president operates.”

Obama goes to a school to talk to the kids and to get a little PR. After his talk he offers question time. One little boy puts up his hand and Obama asks him his name.

    "Stanley," responds the boy.

"And what is your question, Stanley?"

"I have 4 questions: First, why did you go to bed the night of the Benghazi raid and only talk to your cabinet one time when you KNEW Americans lives were on the line? Second, why are you President when we still have no clue where you were born? Third, what REALLY happened to all of the money you gave to green energy corporations that are now bankrupt? Fourth, if I don't do my homework I get punished ... why haven't you submitted a budget to Congress when the LAW says you were supposed to submit one by the first Monday in February?

Just then, the bell rings for recess. Obama informs the kiddies that they will continue after recess.

When they resume Obama says, "OK, now ... where were we? Oh, that 's right: question time. Who has a question?"

Another little boy puts up his hand. Obama points him out and asks him his name.

    "Steve," he responds.

    "And what is your question,Steve?"

Actually, I have 6 questions. First, why did you go to bed the night of the Benghazi raid and only talk to your cabinet one time when you KNEW Americans lives were on the line? Second, why are you President when we still have no clue where you were born? Third, what REALLY happened to all of the money you gave to green energy corporations that are now bankrupt? Fourth, if I don't do my homework I get punished ... why haven't you submitted a budget to Congress when the LAW says you were supposed to submit one by the first Monday in February? Fifth, why did the recess bell go off 20 minutes early? And sixth, what the heck happened to Stanley?"

10 Biggest Pranks Obama Pulled on America 04/03/13

    From IJ Review: http://www.ijreview.com/2013/04/4440...ed-on-america/

    1. No Middle Class Tax Hikes : President Obama promised not to raise taxes on the middle class. But the fiscal cliff deal hiked the payroll tax by 2%, and 'taxes' are raised on insurers through Obamacare. April Fool's!

    2. Cut the Deficit in Half
: In 2009, Obama promised to cut the deficit in half. Obama averaged record $1.3 trillion deficits over his first term. Hey, your shoelaces are untied!

    3. Stimulus Would Lower Unemployment : The $812 billion stimulus package projected the unemployment rate would be below 5.4% by now. Only reason it is 7.7% is because of millions excluded from the labor force. Ever try a Hertz donut?

    4. Economic Growth : The White House predicted 2012 GDP (economic) growth of 4.6% back in 2009. Instead, the Weekly Standard points out that GDP growth was almost a third of that at 1.77% through 2012 Q3 and the last quarter is now estimated at 0.4% growth. Would you like to go snipe hunting?

    5. Transparency
: The Obama administration came into office in 2009 touting it would be the most transparent in history. Instead, repeated rejections of information requests and secret meetings make it among the most secretive. Hey, there goes Elvis!

    6. If You Like Your Doctor... : Obama promised people can keep their doctors when pushing Obamacare. Forbes reported the White House conceding: low reimbursement rates “might end (provider) participation and possibly jeopardize access to care by beneficiaries.” Is that mustard on your shirt?

    7. If You Like Your Insurance, You Can Keep It : Obama promised this repeatedly. Forbes: "officials project that employers will pay $135 billion in fines to opt out of health insurance for their employees. You cannot keep your current insurance if your employer no longer offers it!” Who put this whoopee cushion on my chair?

    8. Obamacare Won't Add to Deficit
: Obama said the 10-year cost of Obamacare will be less than $1 trillion. The $900 billion originally sold to the public is actually at least $2.7 trillion. Shoot, there's a bag on fire on my porch!

    9. Energy Independence : Obama touted an "all-of-the-above' energy strategy during his campaign that in reality includes less coal, offshore drilling, fewer public land oil & gas permits; as well as obstructing fracking for natural gas and delaying the Keystone pipeline. Did someone just put sugar in my gas tank?

    10. Hope and Change : Barack Obama was made President of the United States mainly due to a campaign of "hope and change" that was uncritically promoted by the mainstream media. Instead, Obama is just another slick politician who makes promises at others’ expense, blames others when he doesn’t deliver, and flaunts Constitutional limitations when convenient. Dude, where's my country?
