Gunman identified after four Marines killed in Tennessee
    July 16, 2015

CHATTANOOGA, TN - The death toll in the Chattanooga shootings includes four U.S. Marines and the sole gunman believed responsible, according to city Mayor Andy Berke.

The FBI confirmed the identity of the suspected shooter as 24-year-old Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. He was believed to have been born in Kuwait, and it was unclear whether he was a U.S. or Kuwaiti citizen. He is from Hixson, Tennessee, which is just a few miles across the river from Chattanooga. According to CNN, law enforcement officials said he was a naturalized U. S. citizen who also had Jordanian citizenship, and who studied at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga.

U.S. attorney Bill Killian called the killings at the military sites an "act of domestic terrorism," though the FBI said they have not determined the exact motive yet. Federal agents swarmed a home Thursday believed to belong the Abdulazeez. An Associated Press reporter saw officers with weapons drawn at the house and said two women were led away in handcuffs.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch says she's directing the FBI to take the lead on a "national security" investigation into the Chattanooga attacks. She said the two shootings at military sites in Chattanooga represented a "heinous attack."

Chattanooga Police reported the situation was "over" around 12:15 p.m. CT, after around an hour of blocking roads and searching for the person or persons responsible.

"Horrific incident in our community," Berke tweeted earlier Thursday morning. "We will release details as they are confirmed. Prayers to all those affected."

The U.S. Navy later confirmed the shooting at the Naval Reserve Center on Twitter, and said they were investigating a second incident at a recruiting center on Lee Highway.

The Associated Press reported Sgt. 1st Class Robert Dodge, 36, was working at the Armed Forces Career Center off Lee Highway when someone opened fire and he heard 30 to 50 shots. The center also has Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps personnel there. U.S. Army Recruiting said all personnel were safe.

"We heard one single shot, which kind of sparked our attention. Shortly after that, just a few seconds, the shooter began shooting more rounds. We realized it was an actual shooting, so we then initiated our active shooter drill: getting down low to the ground, moving to a safe location. And we waited until everything seemed to be clear."

CNN also reported that a witness told them she saw a man with a "high-powered rifle" fire multiple shots from a silver Mustang. She said she was watching the scene through a window from inside a restaurant. Those reports were not confirmed by police.

President Barack Obama promised a thorough investigation into the attacks, saying it appears at this time to be the work of a lone gunman. Obama called the shooting a "heartbreaking circumstance" and said he's been in touch with the Defense Department to make sure military facilities are vigilant.

Obama is giving nukes to Iran & continues to deny US citizens--esp our military on bases here--the right to defend themselves. Clinton started this. Obama continues. Why does Obama trust terrorists more than US citizens & military?

Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez it has now been stated that came here from Kuwait at the direction of ISIS to stage an attack on our military on our home soil.

No Time to Rest: Four Marines were Murdered Yesterday, But Guess What Obama is Going to Do
    July 17, 2015 Jennifer Burke

Barack Hussein Obama has an interesting way of showing compassion, concern, and sorrow over the death of Americans at the hands of Muslim terrorists or anarchy within a community that leads to massive destruction. He has created a pattern for himself. Americans are killed by Muslim terrorists or people who seek to destroy are given space to do so and what does Obama do?

He flies off to a high-dollar fundraiser.

The four Marines were murdered yesterday at a recruitment center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The suspect, who was also killed, has been identified as Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. Obama delivered a near emotionless statement while slumped in a chair, not from a position of power while standing at a podium. He mentioned the heinous act on his social media 11 hours after the Marines were killed.

So, it looks like he is now in party mode.

He’s jetting off on another high dollar fundraising trip coupled with a mini-vacay with his daughters in the Big Apple.

CNSNews reports on this vacation/fundraising trip to a hip location and, no doubt, staying in swanky accommodations. http://cnsnews.com/news/article/its-...ew-york-obamas

President Barack Obama is headed to New York for a rare father-daughter weekend in the city. He’ll also collect some cash for Democrats while he’s there.

Obama was headlining a Democratic fundraiser Friday night hosted by businessman George Logothetis and his wife, Nitzia. About 30 supporters were contributing up to $33,400 each.

Then, with the politics out of the way, the rest of Obama’s New York overnighter was set aside for time with teenage daughters, Malia and Sasha.
The left loves to compare the number of vacations that Obama has taken to those of his predecessor, especially George W. Bush. But, Bush “vacationed” at his ranch in Crawford, Texas which was set up with everything he needed to work. It was essentially a mini-White House in Texas.

And heaven-forbid Obama cancel a fundraising trip after a tragedy has rocked this nation.

Obama’s vacations are among those he loves to demonize in public while partying with in private, the “elite 1%.”

But, hey, as with all narcissistic tyrants, there are two sets of rules. One for him, and one for the proletariat, the workers, over whom he rules.

CNN Doesn’t Know if ‘Muhammad’ is a Muslim Name
    July 17, 2015 Matthew K. Burke 

Perfectly aligned with the Obama Regime, the main stream media continues to tie itself into pretzels to avoid making any connection between radical Islam and terrorism acts.

Case in point was the “analysis” on CNN’s The Lead on Thursday following the murder of four marines by a Muslim madman, Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Even though Muhammad is name of the prophet of Islam, CNN analyst Tom Fuentes isn’t sure that the name “Muhammad” is a Muslim name.

Yes, you read that correctly. This is not a joke.

“I know…what the name sounds like, but we don’t know that it’s a Muslim name. We know it’s an Arabic name. We don’t know what this individual was believing in, and that’s what they’re going to be trying to determine,” Fuentes, drowning in political correctness, told host John Berman.

    Unbelievable.

    Video at link http://politistick.com/cnn-doesnt-kn...a-muslim-name/

Take your time with this one. I myself was thinking if the guy on the right shaved his beard and changed his name to Bob this whole thing would have been spun out as racist white guys out of control and we would be banning more flags.

I remember when ISIS came out and said they were coming to America to kill US troops and Americans laughed like it would never happened. Well ~ it just happened. This is real. This guy is not a one off. He is part of a group planted here through our wide open borders (thanks Obama) in our country to engage in act of terror. Now to bring this whole thing full circle just because I like to bash her... tell me again how the same woman that let Americans get slaughtered in Benghazi will now step forward and enact police to protect Americans now? Take your time. I got nothing planned for the weekend.

    Thoughts on the Chattanooga Shooter
    July 17, 2015 - Jane-Alexandra Krehbiel

Yesterday, a devout Muslim young man used a rifle to kill four marines at a military recruiting office in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In the US, even soldiers are not permitted to bring weapons to work, when work is a facility, even rented by the federal government. The devout Muslim young man actually attacked two facilities yesterday, but was killed by police before he was able to take additional lives. There are other individuals this man injured and at least one of their lives still hangs in the balance. Because they were not permitted to be armed while at work, the soldiers in the recruiting station were sitting ducks.

The shooter is said to be a very pious Muslim young man who was raised in Tennessee. I will not dignify him or his actions by even stating his name. He was born in Kuwait, had Jordanian citizenship and had been a naturalized American citizen. He held an electrical engineering degree from a Tennessee university. He was given all the opportunities we have available here. He is said to have belonged to a good family who are "good people". Classmates in high school remembered him to be "very bright". He squandered all the chances given to him by this nation, and he squandered his own life as well, and dishonored his family here.

A few weeks ago I posted an entry where I explained that ISIS had hacked US military information and was publishing the names of military officers and their families. They actually created a "Hit List/Wish List" just in the event that anyone who was already in the US and wished to do them a favor would have a place to start. If I knew this, then the US military certainly did, as did the FBI. Were additional security measures taken in view of the ISIS hit list? Doesn't an attack on a recruiting station does sound like a likely progression from such a list? Will the federal government revisit their policy concerning no firearms in federal facilities, even in the hands of soldiers ?

Americans are not at war with Muslims. However, radical Islamists have made it very clear that they are indeed at war with Americans and particularly with anyone who has ties to our military. They are determined to bring the war home to us, and to our doorsteps.

Americans need to remain watchful. Anyone who is legally able to obtain a concealed weapons permit, should do so. A gun is not a charm, however. Simply owning one and carrying one does not protect you, in itself. In fact, owning one without proficiency may actually place you at more risk as the weapon can be taken from you and used on you and your family. A weapon is a serious responsibility. One must allocate time and money to practice regularly and to become safe and proficient. Once one is safe and proficient, then time and funds must still be allocated for practice ammo to retain that level of proficiency.

Remember that in study after study, active shooters who encounter armed resistance tend to take their own lives, and this ends the incident. Perhaps we should all be ready to be that resistance to an armed shooter.

When ISIS fighters realize that at every turn, their band of operatives will encounter competent armed resistance 24/7 perhaps attacks on the United States homeland will become less appealing.

Music Legend Comes Down HARD on Obama for Chattanooga Shooting

Written by Michelle Jesse, Associate Editor on July 17, 2015

In the wake of yesterday’s terrorist attack that killed four unarmed Marines at military facility, a ever-louder chorus of voices is demanding important and immediate changes to prevent this type of attack from happening yet again.

The most tangible change, of course, is getting rid of the policy that keeps our troops unarmed on their home base.

But there’s another culprit of a more insidious nature that’s increasingly being called out: the environment of political correctness that so many on the left, including our president, seem to put above all else — including common sense and lives.

Today, music legend Charlie Daniels — who now makes his home in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee — added his strong voice to the chants.

    As Western Journalism reports:

One of America’s most famous country rock musicians excoriated President Obama for how he reacted publicly after what many believe to have been a terrorist attack in Chattanooga, Tenn., that left four Marines dead Thursday — a mass murder allegedly committed by a lone shooter.
Could that last Tweet be in reference to the other Very Bad News of the week — our president’s Very Bad Deal with none other than Iran, the leading sponsor of Islamic terrorism?

Once again, there’s something about Twitter’s brevity that just cuts beautifully to the chase. And, once again, how refreshing to hear a message so completely stripped of political correctness that the actual truth of the matter is laid bare. Can you imagine how much better we might actually be able to ADDRESS these problems if we can actually SEE them clearly, without the obfuscation of political correctness? (Perhaps that obfuscation is actually all part of the plan, but that’s another story…)

Could it be that messages like Daniels’, coupled with the popularity of messages like Donald Trump’s, indicate we’ve reached a tipping point in this country — where enough Americans are saying ENOUGH to hyper political correctness? I sincerely hope so… and that we can turn this tide before this insidious force destroys our country from the inside out.

Lt. Col. West to Obama: End Gun-Free Zones at Military Sites

Lt. Col. Allen West today called for an executive order to end gun-free zones at military facilities in the United States.

West said that a series of attacks within the U.S. has shown that military personnel are in danger, citing the 2009 Arkansas recruiting office shooting, the Fort Hood massacre, and yesterday’s attacks on two Tennessee military sites.

Authorities say that 24-year-old Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez gunned down four Marines in Chattanooga yesterday before he was fatally shot by police.

“The battlefield is here,” West said. “And it’s just a simple act of leadership, a change in policy to enable [military personnel] to be able to defend themselves.”

West said that President Barack Obama should issue an executive order today to get rid of gun-free zones on military sites.

“He is the commander-in-chief, and how many more of our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines have to lose their lives here in the United States of America, the place where they’re supposed to be able to have respite away from a combat zone, before he takes action?” West asked.

One military reaction to the horrific shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is making a viral impact on social media.

The reaction is from U.S. Marine and Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer.

    Dakota Meyer

    ..

Just a few hours ago Chattanooga, TN was struck with tragedy as four United States Marines were shot and killed and one Law Enforcement Office was wounded in attacks on a Navy/Marine Corps recruiting office and Navy Reserve center. First and foremost my thoughts and prayers go out to the families those four Marines left behind. This incident IS an act of domestic terrorism, regardless of how Washington spins it, regardless of what nationality, color, creed, or otherwise the shooter was. This was a planned attack on the United Stated Military on United States soil. Now is not the time to come out waiving photos of bullet holes in the glass calling for more gun control and spinning the story to yield a further separation of peoples in the Unites States. Now is the time for a call on the American people to finally realize the state of the world we are living in and the enemy that we face. Now is the time to call on the on the American people to ignore the propaganda that special interest groups have been shoving in our faces and unite as a country so that we may become our neighbor’s keeper. Evil is not just over seas, but also here at home. Moments after this tragedy had occurred ISIS sent out via Twitter that they were responsible for the attacks and that the shooter, Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez was one of theirs. ISIS said recently that they were coming to American soil to kill members of the United States Military and now that threat has come to fruition.

I, for one, do not plan to give away by ability to defend myself and those I care about. I carry a firearm with me at all times legally under the conceal and carry laws in the area that I am in. I do not call for a disarming of American but instead a full institution of the 2nd Amendment so that we may defend ourselves as a country from all threats, both foreign and domestic. The threat is here, this is real, and this will not be the end of it.

Precious little was being said about the possibility of him being influenced by radical elements of his faith calling for Muslims to wage war against unbelievers. The media focused instead on his background: a Jordanian born in Kuwait in 1990, moving to the United States a few years later and becoming a naturalized citizen.

He did a little blogging, said the media, leaving cryptic messages that the world “is a prisoner for the believer [Muslim] and a paradise for the unbeliever [non-Muslim],” while adding the warning: “Don’t let the society we live in deviate you from the task at hand,” and “This life is short and bitter and the opportunity to submit to Allah may pass you by.”

No links if one forgets the long train of other “lone wolf” terrorist attacks by Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad in Arkansas in June, 2009, or that of Major Nidal Hasan who killed 13 soldiers at Fort Hood in November, 2009, or that of Arid Uka who shot two U.S. airmen in at the Frankfurt airport in March, 2011, or that of Mohammed Merah who killed seven in Toulouse, France, in March 2012, or that of the brothers Tsarnaev killing three and injuring 260 in the Boston Marathon bombing in April 2013, or the killing of a British soldier in London in May 2013 by Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale who had converted to Islam, or that of Mehdi Nemmouche who attacked and killed four at the Jewish Museum in Brussels in May, 2014.

All this must be forgotten or deliberately ignored in order to conclude that Abdulazeez was acting apart from any outside influence.

And such attacks will likely continue until such time as their targets are allowed to arm themselves. Making military recruiting centers gun-free zones is certainly part of the problem. The federal government should repeal the Clinton-era military recruiting center gun ban that currently prohibits those targets from being able to defend themselves and consequently turning them into sitting ducks for attackers such as Abdulazeez.

Another preemptive measure that the U.S. government would be wise to take in this regard would be to stop its interference in Muslim-dominated countries across the Middle East and North Africa. Much of the recent "jihadist" ideology calling for attacks on the United States and U.S. interests can be attributed to "blowback" from an interventionist U.S. foreign policy toward the Middle East dating back to at least the early 1950s. Also, any shooting or "terrorist" attacks can be used as excuses for the further federalization and growth of the police state along with more military intervention in the Middle East.

While Americans should not be ignorant of the "jihadist" mentality, they must also be aware of the fact that any government can use such radicalization to its advantage in order to consolidate more power. And such consolidation of power in the hands of the federal government is arguably a much greater threat to the freedom of American citizens than any "jihadist," lone-wolf or otherwise.

A US Navy sailor who was injured in the Tennessee shooting that killed 4 Marines has died
    July 18, 2015 1:54 AM CDT
By MICHAEL KUNZELMAN, JAY REEVES and KATHLEEN FOODY

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez pulled up to his military targets in a rented, silver Mustang convertible, wearing a vest with extra ammunition, wielding at least two long guns - either rifles or shotguns - and a handgun. His once clean-shaven face was covered with a bushy beard.

Abdulazeez slaughtered four Marines and wounded three others in the attacks, including a sailor who died Saturday in a hospital.

The image of Abdulazeez described by investigators doesn't square with the seemingly pedestrian suburban man that neighbors and classmates knew: A clean-cut wrestler, the brother of a tennis player, the son of parents who drove no-frills cars. He was a man who played with the neighborhood kids growing up, and gave a lift to a neighbor who became stranded in a snowstorm.

Just days before the shootings, Abdulazeez was seen dribbling a soccer ball in his yard, and he told two longtime friends he was excited and upbeat about his new job at a company that designs and makes wire and cable products.

"Everything seemed fine. He was normal. He was telling me work was going great," said Ahmed Saleen Islam, 26, who knew Abdulazeez through the Islamic Society of Greater Chattanooga and saw him at the mosque two or three nights before the attacks. "We are so shocked and angry," Islam said. "We wish he would have come to us."

Hailey Bureau, 25, recalled sitting next to Abdulazeez in high school because their last names were close alphabetically. She said she broke down Thursday when she learned he was the gunman, saying, "It's so shocking. I imagine him the way I knew him then, laughing and smiling."

Bureau recalled Abdulazeez's sense of humor, evident in a wry quote next to his yearbook photo, one that has since taken on bitter irony: "My name causes national security alerts. What does yours do?"

The 24-year-old Kuwait-born man opened fire on two U.S. military sites in Chattanooga on Thursday. It's not clear what set him on the path to violence that ended with him being gunned down by police.

On Saturday, Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith, a reservist serving on active duty at the Chattanooga center, died, bringing the death toll to five.

Smith grew up in the northwest Ohio city of Paulding and joined the military after attending college in Ohio, his grandmother Linda Wallace said before his death. He was married and had three young daughters.

Abdulazeez did not appear to have been on federal authorities' radar before the bloodshed Thursday, officials said. But now counterterrorism investigators are taking a deep look at his online activities and foreign travel, searching for clues to his political contacts or influences.

"It would be premature to speculate on exactly why the shooter did what he did," FBI agent Ed Reinhold said. "However, we are conducting a thorough investigation to determine whether this person acted alone or was inspired or directed."

In the quiet neighborhood in Hixson, Tennessee, where Abdulazeez lived with his parents in a two-story home, residents and former classmates described an ordinary suburban life.

"It's kind of a general consensus from people that interacted with him that he was just your average citizen there in the neighborhood. There was no reason to suspect anything otherwise," said Ken Smith, a city councilman.

However, court documents allege it was an abusive and turbulent household.

Abdulazeez's mother, Rasmia Ibrahim Abdulazeez, filed a divorce complaint in 2009 accusing her husband, Youssuf Saed Abdulazeez, of beating her repeatedly in front of their children and sexually assaulting her. She also accused him of "striking and berating" the children without provocation.

Weeks later, the couple agreed to reconcile, with the father consenting to go to counseling.

Abdulazeez graduated from Red Bank High School in Chattanooga, where he was on the wrestling team.

Bilal Sheikh, 25, said he had known Abdulazeez since they were teenagers, and they often played basketball together. He saw his friend at the mosque last weekend, as they came to pray and as part of the services to celebrate Ramadan.

"I'm in total shock, like everyone else," Sheikh said, later adding, "He was always the most cheerful guy. If you were having a bad day, he would brighten your day."

Islam and Sheikh both said that in the years they had known Abdulazeez, he never expressed any negative feelings about the United States or members of the military.

"He never said anything that would have been a red flag," Sheikh said. "I have so many questions in my head. I want to know why? What made him crack all of a sudden? It's mindboggling."

Abdulazeez got an engineering degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2012 and worked as an intern a few years ago at the Tennessee Valley Authority, the federally owned utility that operates power plants and dams across the South.

He was conditionally hired as an engineer at the Perry nuclear power plant near Cleveland and spent 10 days there before he was let go in May 2013 because he failed a background check, said Todd Schneider, a FirstEnergy Corp. spokesman. Schneider would not say why he failed, but said he was never allowed in the protected area of the plant near the reactor.

Later Friday, a federal official who had been briefed on the matter told The Associated Press that Abdulazeez was dismissed because he failed a drug test. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing law enforcement investigation.

For the past three months, Abdulazeez had been working at Superior Essex Inc., which designs and makes wire and cable products.

In April, he was arrested on a drunken driving charge, and a mugshot showed him with a bushy beard.

Karen Jones, who lived next to the family for 14 years, said she was somewhat surprised last weekend by his appearance when she saw him walking with another man in woods behind the house, where he liked to shoot pellet guns at a red target suspended in a tree.

"He had this big beard, which was not how he used to be," Jones said. She said he was typically clean-shaven.

The women of the family always wore head coverings in accordance with their Muslim faith, Jones said.

The official Kuwait News Agency on Friday quoted the Interior Ministry as saying that while Abdulazeez was born in Kuwait, he was of Jordanian origin.

A U.S. official who was not authorized to discuss the case and spoke on condition of anonymity said that Abdulazeez was in Jordan last year for months, and that those travels and anyone he met with are being looked at as part of the terrorism investigation.

In recent months, U.S. counterterrorism authorities have been warning of the danger of attacks by individuals inspired but not necessarily directed by the Islamic State group. Officials have said they have disrupted several such lone-wolf plots.

But the FBI's Reinhold said Friday that so far, there is "no indication he was inspired by or directed by" ISIS or other groups.

The dead Marines were identified as Gunnery Sgt. Thomas J. Sullivan of Hampden, Massachusetts; Staff Sgt. David A. Wyatt of Burke, North Carolina; Sgt. Carson A. Holmquist of Polk, Wisconsin; and Lance Cpl. Squire K. "Skip" Wells of Cobb County, Georgia. Sullivan, Wyatt and Holmquist had served in Iraq, Afghanistan or both.

Despite the headline ... almost the entire article is about the shooter, not the slain

MSNBC Desperately Searches for Another Narrative,
Questions if Chattanooga Shooter Was Into Guns

    July 17, 2015 Greg Campbell

Though the gunsmoke had barely cleared in Charleston by the time the mainstream media rushed to assert that the Confederate flag helped spur Dylann Roof to commit the heinous shooting, the same mainstream media is doing everything they can to ignore and evade the likely motivation of Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez, the Kuwaiti-born Muslim who shot and killed 4 Marines on Thursday.

The left maintains a crusade against Christianity in America, but simultaneously, demands that Americans remain blind to the dangers of radical Islam and the ever-encroaching danger on our soil.

In this pursuit of any other narrative, MSNBC “journalist” Andrea Mitchell desperately sought an alternative explanation that would jibe with the left’s political narrative: Mitchell needed the shooting to have been a result of firearms.

When interviewing a former classmate of the deranged gunman, Mitchell questioned if he enjoyed “hunting” or other “small-town Tennessee activity.”

I see where this is going…

“Were guns a big part of activities- social or other activities?” Mitchell jumped to asked.

    “What?” the puzzled interviewee responded.

"Did he hunt, did he shoot?” Mitchell questioned. “Was that just part of small-town Tennessee activity?”

“Um, he actually wasn’t one of the guys I heard about going hunting,” the classmate responded. “He wasn’t really that kind of guy.”
Mitchell must be crestfallen; if she could discover even a superficial interest in firearms, the mainstream media could conjure a narrative surrounding “gun culture” and *voila,* the Second Amendment is back in the crosshairs and as an added bonus, fewer would be discussing Islam and the violent adherents to this alleged “religion of peace.”

Further, if we take Mitchell’s comments one step further, it seems insulting for her to insinuate that to live in Tennessee is to be interested in rural activities.

In the world of political correctness, we are not allowed to presume that because Abdulazeez was Muslim, his religion is likely to have been his motivation but we are allowed to presume that because the crime occurred in Tennessee, he must have been engaged in huntin’, fishin’ and the backwoods life.

After finding a photo of Roof holding a Confederate flag, the media set-off a nationwide hysteria. But the devout Muslim who shot-up a military installation? “Let’s wait to see if we can figure out what his motivations might have been…”
