wow, that's one way to get people to make them pay for it... alot of people will say hell no about taking their tax returns! Especially the people that get back THOUSANDS! I am just fine with choice for the American people, but MAKING it and FORCING mandatory health care is another thing! I truely wish things like this that concern us the American people would be brought to us for OUR vote. I understand that health ins. is a huge issue, and many many want it/need it!!, but the government is taking away our choice to choose if we want it or not. I want choice, not forcement! This is what it sounds like to me anyway. That being said, I hope they have something cheap enough for me to afford.

    found this article cute~

Bahet They're going to hire thousands of IRS agents? Cool, maybe I'll apply then we won't be homeless, jobless, without insurance, and stranded in Europe come June. How is the creation of thousands of jobs a bad thing? For that matter, how is your adult child being able to stay on your policy until they are 26 or a child's preexisting conditions not being allowed to come into play a bad thing? How is making insurance companies put 80% of money towards health care instead of a new jet for the CEO a bad thing? Adults will have to wait a while for the real benefits to kick in. For now, though, the children will benefit. Isn't the right all about helping the innocent? Or do children suddenly lose that innocence once they are born?
The fees, fines, and taxes will begin in this quarter. The vast majority benefits will not kick in until at least 2014....

If you wanted to buy a car ... and signed the deal... you start paying your note immediately ... but can not drive the car for four years... would you take that deal ??

    Try reading this : http://finance.yahoo.com/news/5-Over...44017.html?x=0

Sure insurance company stocks rose, their initial profits will skyrocket because they can rasie premiums starting January 1, 2011 in anticipation of the new mandates taking affect. Drug companies (thanks a bunch Billy Tauzin) also profit from the increases they will see by adding 25 million people to their ... See Morecurrent purchaser pool. Let's see, the government is adding 25 million people to the list already getting government assisted medical services, big insurance and huge pharma stand to profit, doctors and hospitals are on board, ummmm? Could it be that the American Middle Class will have to foot the bill for both the wealthy and the poor?

Income taxes also started out being paid by the "extremely wealthy" (In 1913, the top tax rate was 7% on incomes above $500,000 ($10 million 2009 dollars)), and today persons earning $34,000 hand over 25% of their income. Don't be surprised to find that $250,000 ceiling gets lowered as Congress learns this "costs" more than expected.

The Obama/Dem cheerleaders love to use the "but ... it's for the children ..." as a rallying cry. Here's a fact : hundreds of thousands of children who already qualify for SCHIP healthcare ARE NOT SIGNED UP for the program... that is why they are classified as "uninsured/underinsured". Instead of all this "reform" which is more about gainging control ... why not try harder to get these children on the EXISTING programs ??

Did the system need fixing ? YES.

Is this the way ?? NO.

Obama Will Kill Tens Of Thousands Of Americans...By Design
    http://hindenblog1.blogspot.com/2010...thousands.html

In what must be the most cynical, politically motivated aspect of ObamaCare, many tens of thousands of Americans will be killed. By design.

How can I say such a thing? Well, I apply Obamic numbers to Obamic policy. Simple.

According to widely published scare "statistics", used constantly by Obami collectivists, 45,000 Americans die each year for lack of health care. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE58G6W520090917

But, by cynical calculated design, ObamaCare does not begin to really kick in until 2014. They had to do that to cook the numbers, so that revenue was generated prior to benefits being due. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/ezr...he_senate.html

That leaves us this calculation: 45,000 x 4 years = 180,000 dead Americans.

Of course, that doesn't count the millions of Americans left uncovered by ObamaCare's non-universal universal coverage.

    Obama lied...Americans died.

If it was so desperate a situation, so crucial it be passed RIGHT NOW !! ... why does it take FOUR YEARS to have benefits kick in ??

If it is such a WONDERFUL program .... why is Congress and this Administration exempt from their own legislation ??

    pps:

Congress and the Obama administration seem to have failed to include small details in the health care bill — such as forgetting to make sure it could keep evil insurance companies from denying coverage for kids with preexisting conditions.

Congress and the president were so distracted by the real purpose of the bill that they forgot to include the stated purpose of the bill in the actual bill

Health Bill Written to Stop Evil Insurance Companies From Denying Kids With Preexisting Conditions Doesn’t Exactly Do That

Wasn’t the entire stated point of Obamacare from the git-go that it was “for the children,” and was desperately needed to stop evil insurance companies from denying coverage to kids with preexisting conditions?

This kind of thing “slipping through the cracks” is proof-positive (as if we needed more proof) that this bill was designed with other intentions: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...7rN-AD9EKTKIG0

Hours after President Barack Obama signed historic health care legislation, a potential problem emerged. Administration officials are now scrambling to fix a gap in highly touted benefits for children.

Obama made better coverage for children a centerpiece of his health care remake, but it turns out the letter of the law provided a less-than-complete guarantee that kids with health problems would not be shut out of coverage.

Under the new law, insurance companies still would be able to refuse new coverage to children because of a pre-existing medical problem, said Karen Lightfoot, spokeswoman for the House Energy and Commerce Committee, one of the main congressional panels that wrote the bill Obama signed into law Tuesday.
Rep. Clyburn called the Obamacare bill the “Civil Rights Act of the 21st century.” http://www.charlotteobserver.com/201...ts-act-of.html

Well, that comparison would only be valid if the original Civil Rights Act forgot to provide civil rights to anybody.

    http://dougpowers.com/2010/03/24/health-bill/

    Obama lied. Children denied.

But there’s one thing Congress and the president didn’t forget to put in the Obamacare bill: The taxes and surcharges under the guise of caring about our weight: http://liveshots.blogs.foxnews.com/2...s-health-care/

One of the provisions in the new health care law requires small businesses to provide coverage for workers. Such an “employer mandate” has been in place in San Francisco, Calif., for over a year. The mandate has earned mixed reviews at best.

Under the law, businesses with 20 or more employees are required to provide medical coverage, either on their own or by paying into a city-run program. That’s what most restaurants are doing — albeit grudgingly.

To cover the cost, owners are either having to raise their menu prices or tack on a so-called “Healthy Surcharge” onto the tab. At some places, it’s around 4 percent of the check. Others charge a flat fee of a dollar or two.
The only real medical condition Obamacare might cure is slipped disks, because our backs will be spared the strain of lugging any money around.

But fortunately San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom is there to remind us that spending more money in the long run will save money, uh, in the long run (?): http://liveshots.blogs.foxnews.com/2...s-health-care/

Some eateries worry they’ll have to let people go, or cut shifts. But Mayor Gavin Newsom gives a different view. A former restaurant owner himself, who lobbied hard for this universal health care program, Newsom argues it’s saving restaurants and taxpayers money, by offering workers preventative care. Newsom argues that this in turn keeps them out of emergency rooms, and on the clock.
Unless the doctor is working right there in the restaurant, instead of being in an emergency room, said employee will be rotting in line at their Obamacare-designated doctor’s office/muffler shop, so where’s the benefit to the restaurant, its customers, or the taxpayers in general? Besides, I’ve been in emergency rooms before, and I hadn’t noticed that they were continually filled with sous chefs, waitresses and busboys, but maybe I’m just not very observant.

It’s strange that many of the people who will be paying the most fat taxes are some of the ones who support Obamacare the most. Conversely, it should baffle Americans even more that politicians (and their wives) who start campaigns like “Let’s Move” spend most of their waking hours and all of future generations’ money to craft schemes that encourage people to do nothing more than lay on the couch all day. People who have to go get things tend to be in better shape than people who have everything brought to them — the science is settled on that. Ah, but this is assuming this all has anything to do with physical health.

We can’t say we weren’t warned:

The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more.”

    — Michelle Obama, April 8, 2008

And we’ll let Mayor Newsom play us off with a Frisco coup de grāce about Obamacare — feel free to make your own joke: http://liveshots.blogs.foxnews.com/2...s-health-care/

“Businesses get the benefit in the back end,” Newsom says.

I/we have private insurance. Should my husbands company decide to keep it and we can afford it... will we still have to pay a fine for not using the govt insurance?
