Michael Jackson is a true humanitarian, an example to us all. He has devoted much time and money to a wide range of charities. He loves children and takes time out when touring secretly visting sick children. He also has special rooms at his home Neverland for sick and terminally ill children to stay over. He was listed in the 2000 edition of the Guiness Book Of World Records for breaking the world record for the "Most Charities Supported By a Pop Star". It states that Michael Jackson has supported 39 charity organizations either with monetary donations through sponsorships of their projects or by participating in their silent auction.

We have made an alphabetical list of known charities that Michael Jackson has individualy supported publically throughout his career. Michael Jackson also helped set up Heal The World Foundation, the charities this has supported have not been listed. Read our Heal The World/kids page for details of this foundation.

"We Are the World" is a 1985 song written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, produced and conducted by Quincy Jones and recorded by a supergroup of 45 popular musicians billed as USA for Africa (United Support of Artists for Africa).[1] The charity single was intended to raise funds to help famine-relief efforts in Ethiopia, which had experienced unusual drought and political instability in 1984/1985.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/We_Are_the_World

1985 was long before he was accused of molestation.

How's that? he was giving to charities way before any of the lawsuits were even thought of. He was donating to charities in the 70's.

Have you or gmyers ever thought that people with money (celebrities) are targets of people who want to make some money off of them?

i don't quite understand what your point is. if i recall, there were only 2 incidents of accusations. don't know what happened with the other one and really don't care. i don't think he just went around to average citizens on the streets and handed out millions of dollars if that's what your asking.

there are many reasons why people...mainly big corporations or celebrities settle out of court. i haven't got the time to list them.....i think the more important issue is not the settling and paying out of court but actually the taking of the funds in a case such as molestation. as i said, i wouldn't take a cent of someone's money who i thought molested my kid. and for the love of God.........i would never let me kid go and stay the night with someone who has been accused of molestation already....like the 2nd kid who claimed he molested him. they were wanting $$$ from the get go.

And wouldn't it be sad if no one believed the boys because they liked Michael Jackson.

If he was a true child molestor he would have molested his own children (sons) correct? I mean doesn't it usually start at home? I don't think he molested anyone. I think he was "weird, misunderstood, childlike" and was taken advantage of. And $20 million dollars is nothing to these celebrities. I imagine he just wanted it freaking over with and the settlement was offered. What a sick mother to accept that money if she truly believed her child was molested. It would be more believeable if she uses some of that money to help pay for less fortunate children that were molested to get therapy or something.

Regardless, he is now gone. Like NJean stated, he was a HUGE part of my childhood and teenaged years. Something from my past died when he did and IMO it is tragic and horrible when anyone dies, as it leaves behind loved ones that hurt. His family and friends are all in such terrible pain and agony right now. My heartaches for them. I felt the memorial was beautiful and well over the top. And I also cried through it. I just think its sad that it took his death to bring so much talent and love together. I feel we are very fortunate in our lives to be able to be "apart" of something so many many miles away. I am glad it was on tv. The great thing about having the choice to watch it is, if you don't want to watch it, you can change the channel. I am saddened that his children will never be able to have pure thoughts of their father because of the ugliness of others. If people really truly were upset over this just for his children then they wouldn't be carrying ugliness about their father any longer. He is dead, if you truly believe he is a molester then he can't hurt anyone any longer. So TRULY for the sake of the children allow him to rest in peace. His beautiful brave little girl that spoke so lovingly about her DADDY has enough pain to deal with for the rest of her life, as do his sons.

I pray you rest in peace Michael, it seems that is what you were always searching for.

And if you don't like what I said then "Beat it"!!! LOL. Sorry couldn't help it.

If that is truly the reason then yes it would be sad. But I don't believe the boys from court records/reports that I have read, not because he is MJ. I don't care who you are if you are quilty you should be punished.

WOW! you just put all my thoughts into your post, and so eloquently said!!! and i know what type of mother would take the money in a situation like this. either a greedy one with no conscious or one who knows he was innocent to begin with. either way, i hope they are happy!! he was prob medicating himself to deal with this crap everyone was throwing at him...meanwhile, he really just a had a heart of gold and was misunderstood.
