At the risk of being flamed, I had to get in on this one.

First of all, I would like to say that I do not use drugs nor do I know of anyone that does.

With that being said, I say legalize marijuana. After all, it is a plant. Why, did you know that you can get higher than a kite by smoking the silk in ears of corn? Oh, or ragweed.....yep, that's right! The stuff that grows wild that contributes to seasonal allergies in people like me. Smoke it and get a great buzz. And that's not illegal....is it??

(Before anyone asks, no, I have no idea how or if that stuff would show up in a drug test.)

They just raised the taxes on tobacco for some children's health insurance fund. So I say legalize marijuana and tax the hell out of it. Perhaps those taxes can go to provide health insurance to the rest of America that does not otherwise have it!

My cuz was only violent when he was high or wanted to get high......when he was straight/sober (and not 'wanting'), he was able to control himself......

And I do think it's 'addicting'.......maybe science will say not 'physically' ...but "mentally"....absolutely...

Did he have 'tendencies' otherwise? Perhaps, but they were kept in check and only came out under certain 'circumstances'.....

Your experience may be different, but nevertheless....it's not the same for all.....

When this started, nope, only pot.... No violence nor theft before....

And what's the "tax advantage" for Uncle Sam to that? That seems to be a strong 'argument' for making it legal ("tax the heck out of it").....

Most people I know have no room (nor the inclination) to grow their own. When I lived in the country in TN, we did grow ours and enough to sell. You can't grow enough for yourself to smoke in an apt out here. Same reason most people don't grow their own tobacco.

You can grow it in apartments (no yard necessary) or on a fire escape in the city or indoors with a 'grow light' (even a closet)... perhaps not enough to make a busines out of, but for personal use...sure. How is that 'taxed'? I think that it being illegal deters a lot of people from doing so (growing their own), if they are caught, there are legal consequences.

If it is legal...do we now have a squad that goes around and checks "stamps" on everyone 'partaking"? That would be insane.....and costly....not to mention...impossible.
