Why would Obama think relations would or have gotten better? That's hasn't been part of his plan. He continuously pits one against the other, he looks to divide, not unite.

Why would anyone think it has improved ... every time I disagree with Dem's policies or programs certain liberals always want to yell "RACIST! RACIST!" as if THAT is the ONE and ONLY reason that ANYONE could disagree with the current administration.

Wonder who the racists are ??

It is undeniably the case that racist Americans are almost entirely in one political coalition and not the other.

    [b]Boston Globe: Biden’s “chains” remark sign of tiresome double standard for Democrats;
    Team Obama: So what?

posted at 3:31 pm on August 19, 2012 by Ed Morrissey

No, it’s not the Boston Herald, but the bastion of liberalism on (ahem) Morrissey Boulevard that pointed out the double standard for Democrats that gave Joe Biden a media pass for his “they goin’ to put y’all back in chains” comment this past week. The Boston Globe’s editors demand an apology from Biden, and some equal treatment for Republicans and Democrats on rhetoric, too: http://articles.boston.com/2012-08-1...-insensitivity

When Vice President Joe Biden warned a Virginia rally of hundreds of African Americans that Republican efforts to loosen bank regulations meant “They’re going to put y’all back in chains,” Stephanie Cutter, Team Obama’s deputy campaign manager, said the president would have “no problem with those comments.”

But imagine if Republican Paul Ryan uttered comments like that. Mitt Romney’s pick for vice president would be pilloried for racial insensitivity — and so would Romney. In the fight for civility and substance over pointless hyperbole, Biden may not be the worst offender. But he’s an offender nonetheless, and he should apologize.
After noting Biden’s history of such comments, including the infamous 7-11 remark complete with an attempt at an Indian accident, the Globe wonders why liberals have given Biden a pass for so long. They should care about this as much with Democrats as they do with Republicans, the editors conclude:

Liberals routinely dismiss Biden’s gaffes as the rhetorical excesses of an overly exuberant speaker — it’s “Joe being Joe.” And there can be something appealing about a politician who throws caution and the script that goes with it to the winds. Yet when conservative speakers get overly exuberant and cross a rhetorical line, they are presumed racist or culturally insensitive, rather than refreshingly free-spirited. One standard should apply.
Perhaps they understand that this is the best Obama can do for an argument for re-election, Debra Saunders wrote earlier this week in the San Francisco Chronicle: http://www.sfgate.com/opinion/saunde...ns-3791655.php

Vice President Joe Biden played the race card this week when he drawled Southern-style to a racially mixed audience that if Mitt Romney takes the White House, he’ll “unchain Wall Street. They’re going to put y’all back in chains.”

Last week, a super PAC run by a former aide to President Obama released an ad in which a former steelworker all but fingered Romney for causing his 55-year-old wife’s cancer death in 2006 because Bain Capital shuttered the plant where he worked in 2001. The week before, White House aides stood back as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, without providing any proof whatsoever, charged that Romney didn’t pay taxes for a decade.

The president’s henchmen are running a dirty campaign. The worst part of it: These nasty antics are the best Obamaland has to offer.
In other words, the Obama campaign sold “Hope and Change” in 2008; in 2012, they have to try to sell “Hope in Chains.” Today, the campaign confirmed it would not apologize for Biden’s remarks: http://www.nationaljournal.com/sunda...ments-20120819

Speaking on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday, Stephanie Cutter, an Obama deputy campaign manager, said that no apology was necessary and that Biden’s choice of words were “a distraction from the larger argument” about deregulation. She said the Romney campaign has also said things about the president that are offensive, including questioning his patriotism.

“We are not going to be lectured by Mitt Romney,” she said. “That’s completely hypocritical.”
Power Line’s Paul Mirengoff writes today that this is why Barack Obama and his campaign won’t walk it back or apologize, because Biden’s remarks were a deliberate strategy to foster fear and loathing on the campaign trail: http://www.powerlineblog.com/archive...ens-remark.php

But we should also consider the possibility that Obama affirmatively wants to stand by Biden’s race-baiting.

Jay Cost has argued that Biden’s remark was not a gaffe, but rather an attempt to rally African-American support for Obama. To be sure, Obama has a stranglehold on that vote. However, Cost shows that, in a close election, he may need to carry it to the same extent he did in 2008. This time around, such an overwhelming majority would require a fired up, angry African-American electorate. Hence, Biden’s inflammatory rhetoric.

To apologize for that rhetoric, or even to walk it back, would amount to a concession that the Republicans don’t actually have it in for African-Americans. That’s not a concession Obama is eager to make.

Thus, while the Democrats were willing to walk back their attack on Romney via Ann Romney’s horse, Biden’s attack via the race card is another matter.
Indeed. And perhaps Jack Nicholson said it best in a movie whose title derived from this line: ‘What if this is as good as it gets?”

Meanwhile, Reason reminds us of their February 2009 “Real Men of Genius” ad with Joe Biden …. and wonders whether they should update it for the nonsense of this week: http://reason.com/blog/2012/08/18/re...nius-joe-biden

White liberals like Bob Beckel and Clay Aiken assured us how much they care about African-Americans during the Republican National Convention by counting black faces.

As the Democratic National Convention looms and African-American employment tops 14 percent, conservatives are taking inventory themselves, using the hashtag #ObamaHelpedBlacksLike to tally the administration’s accomplishments.

Updated Handbook of Racial Code Words: Your child’s school lunch and the subtle racism of peanut butter

Just want to check @ThePortlandTrib, i know peanut butter jelly sandwiches are racist; what's the verdict on grilled cheese? Racist? Sexist?

No, really. This has moved beyond slack-jawed incredulity into total self-parody territory.

    9 Sep 12
That’s right. The Handbook of Racial Code words does not just include nefarious terms like “kitchen cabinet” and “chair.” Now it exposes the “subtle racism” of … peanut butter.

The Portland Tribune, in an article titled “Schools beat the drum for equity,” reports (hard to keep a straight face typing that) on the “subtle language of racism” discovered by principal Verenice Gutierrez every day. Every. Day! http://portlandtribune.com/pt-rss/9-...rum-for-equity

Take the peanut butter sandwich, a seemingly innocent example a teacher used in a lesson last school year.

“What about Somali or Hispanic students, who might not eat sandwiches?” says Gutierrez, principal at Harvey Scott K-8 School, a diverse school of 500 students in Northeast Portland’s Cully neighborhood.

“Another way would be to say: ‘Americans eat peanut butter and jelly, do you have anything like that?’ Let them tell you. Maybe they eat torta. Or pita.”
Insert flabbergasted face. How about this? Another way would be to say, “Shut up and let my kid eat her sammich.”

    http://twitchy.com/2012/09/10/update...peanut-butter/

Guess what? When everything is racist, then nothing actually is. Good job, idjits!

Enough with the Boy Who Cried Dog Whistle. And make us a sammich.

Black kids should not be allowed to eat crackers.

    Just sayin'

    ..

Wasn't peanut butter invented by a black dude?

    ..

Why, yes, but if you ask most black liberals today, George Washington Carver was a sell-out to the black people, because...well, I don't know why, but he was. So there.

    ..

Yes, but to put the peanut butter between slices of WHITE bread, and then name it after an English Earl is an obvious attempt to crush all non-whites in the jaws of Euro-Centric Imperialism....mmmm, delicious Imperialism!

    ..

Everything is racist, always. Because America is a racist country and racism is our history and heritage and every day there is more and more racism until there's nothing but racism in the racism and all over the racism racism racism.

    Oh and racism.

    ..

um what? Is there something im missing here. Just the other day I had a 20 year old try to correct me because i said "that black dude over there." He was quick to try to make into racist comment. To which i asked said black dude, which i know from doing business with, can you settle an argument here. I went over it with him he just looked at the kid and said in his subtle way, "wtf is your problem kid."

    ..

I know what you mean. I look forward to the day when a news report will sound something like this:

"Police are looking for a suspect who robbed a store today. The suspect is a person, and was last seen wearing clothes and shoes. Citizens who see the suspect are advised to approach with respect and tolerance. The suspect is believe to be carrying the burden of racism and a .22"

    ..

Are not the Somali and Hispanic students at that school ALSO Americans?

This was originally reported in our area as a hate crime ... because Moffitt was an Obama suppporter.

Hate crime hoaxer of the month: Sharmeka Moffitt
    By Michelle Malkin • October 23, 2012 06:47 PM

My shocked face is getting quite a work out today. Meet Sharmeka Moffitt, heir to the Tawana Brawley/Crystal Mangum hate crime hoax throne.

    Via The Franklin Sun: http://www.franklinsun.com/news.php?id=5412

Two days after multiple law enforcement agencies began an investigation into the attack and burning of a Winnsboro woman at Civitan Park, authorities now believe the wounds were self-inflicted.

According to Winnsboro Police Chief Lester Thomas, evidenced gathered at the scene of the incident shows 20-year-old Sharmeka Moffitt’s initial claims that she was attacked and set on fire turned out to be false claims made up by Moffitt. “This is a case in which the investigators had to pursue the facts that were presented,” Thomas said. “It’s been a very disturbing case for everyone involved.”

On Sunday, officers responded to a 911 call around 8 p.m. near the walking trail at Civitan Park to find Moffitt with burns covering her body. It was less than a minute from the time the call from Moffitt came into the 911 center that officers from the Winnsboro Police Department and the Franklin Parish Sheriff’s Office were on the scene at the park located on Hwy. 15.

Moffitt could not identify the race of her attackers, but said three men wearing “T-shirt hoodies” doused her in a flammable liquid and set her on fire at the park. The responding officers found no suspects or vehicles at the park where the attack allegedly occurred….State Police arrived by helicopter with its crime lab team to gather evidence shortly after Moffitt was taken for medical assistance. Law enforcement officials gathered evidence from the scene all night, finishing its scaling of the crime scene by Monday morning.

After analyzing the evidence at the State Police Crime Lab, it was discovered Moffitt’s fingerprints were on the cigarette lighter and the lighter fluid recovered near the wooded area around the crime scene.

“There is more physical evidence along those lines that back this up,” Thomas said.
The Monroe Morning Star adds: http://www.thenewsstar.com/article/2...-herself-afire

Police have announced that they believe Sharmeka Moffitt fabricated a story about being attacked and burned Sunday night at Civitan Park in Winnsboro by three men who wrote “KKK” on the hood of her car.

Franklin Parish Sheriff Kevin Cobb said during a press conference at the Franklin Parish Courthouse this afternoon that all forensic evidence pointed toward Moffitt concocting the story and setting herself on fire.

“Basically we had to follow the facts,” Cobb said. “This was a disturbing case for all involved. All indications show this was a self-inflicted situation.”

Russell Simmons’ Global Grind is also reporting the new revelations and asks: “[W]hy would someone do something so horrible?”

Longtime readers know it’s not an isolated phenomenon — and neither is the knee-jerk impulse to blame conservatives/the Tea Party/Fox News for numerous incidents that turned out to be completely manufactured.

As Twitchy pointed out, liberals rushed to blame the Sharmeka Moffitt case on Mitt Romney and the Tea Party.

We’re sure all those who fraudulently convicted the Right will get around to retracting and apologizing just as soon as smear merchant Andrew Sullivan gets around to retracting his false accusation that conservatives were responsible for the suicide insurance hoax of that Kentucky census worker.

Democrats revive their Jim Crow roots
    Darleen Click

    Once a racist, always a racist http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...261655348.html

“Everytime [sic] I think the Democratic race card players could not get more vile, more deranged, more patronizingly demeaning to blacks, someone manages to defy even my vivid imagination,” thunders blogger William Jacobson.http://legalinsurrection.com/2012/11...the-rice-card/ He’s referring to a passage in a Washington Post editorial about critics of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice–a passage that in our view is useful for its clarity. [...] http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinio...501_story.html

The Post focuses on the critics rather than their choice of words. Here’s the passage that outrages Jacobson:
“Could it be, as members of the Congressional Black Caucus are charging, that the signatories of the letter are targeting Ms. Rice because she is an African American woman? The signatories deny that, and we can’t know their hearts. What we do know is that more than 80 of the signatories are white males, and nearly half are from states of the former Confederacy.”
Let’s examine this argument carefully. The Post acknowledges that “we can’t know their hearts.” But it finds a (literally) prima facie reason to suspect them of invidious motives: Almost all of them are persons of pallor. The Post is casting aspersions on Duncan and his colleagues based explicitly on the color of their skin. And it is accusing them of racism!
What was implicit during Obama’s first term, that whites and conservatives have nothing to bring to the national table because of the RAAAAACISM, is now explicit.

How is it that people can openly dismiss the Founding Fathers and anyone that refers to their ideals respectfully still call themselves “American”?
    http://www.nationalreview.com/corner...eliana-johnson

We’re here in the 21st century with a group of Americans that still rally to the thinking of the Founding Fathers. The caveats, the exceptions to the equality, the very limited notion of who is to be included in the ruling of the country, white men of property. I don’t know how many people say this or openly think about it this way anymore, but why do, why did the Romney folks feel that this is their country to rule?
Once the hysterical How dare you! Your obvious racist code words offend me! rhetoric that is the first (and many times only) response to any non-Progressive speech is scraped away, the cynicism behind the Balkanization of this country is astounding. Taranto says

The trouble with a diverse coalition based on ethnic or racial identity is that solidarity within each group can easily produce conflicts among the groups. Permissive immigration policies, for example, may be good for Hispanics and Asians but bad for blacks. Racial preferences in college admissions help blacks and Hispanics at the expense of Asians.

One way of holding together such a disparate coalition is by delivering prosperity, so that everyone can feel he’s doing well. Failing that, another way is by identifying a common adversary–such as the “white male.” During Obama’s first term, the demonization of the “white male” was common among left-liberal commentators, especially MSNBC types. The Post has now lent its considerably more mainstream institutional voice to this form of bigotry.

Now more than ever, it isn’t the Democrats that have moved Forward! so much as returned to LBJ’s era of the 1960′s where the myth of the Republican Southern Strategy was born. http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/...gy-myth-gop-s/ At the time, LBJ continually rejected Republican only civil rights bills until he could get some nominal Democrat support for the 1964 Civil Rights Act (and even up through 1989, Democrats continued to win handily in in former segregationist states). LBJ’s so-called “Great Society” then went on to boost the destruction of the African American family while, in the words of LBJ http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/...gy-myth-gop-s/

A source for information about LBJ who is not a partisan hack, dirty trickster and MLK-adultery publicist is Robert M. MacMillan, Air Force One steward during the Johnson administration. Macmillan reports that when LBJ was flying on Air Force One with two governors once, he boasted, “I’ll have them negroes voting Democratic for two hundred years.”
With Obama now as our Lord and Savior, any criticism of Him is not merely racist, it’s blasphemous. http://www.mediaite.com/tv/jamie-fox...g-awards-show/

Jamie Foxx Jokes About Killing ‘All the White People’ in New Movie: ‘How Great Is That?’
Posted on December 9, 2012 at 8:00pm by Erica Ritz

Singer/actor Jamie Foxx hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend, and his comments were racially-charged from the outset.

For those who don’t recall, Foxx is the man who recently told us that we should “honor” our “lord and savior” Barack Obama.

“I’m dressed in all black, cause it’s good to be black. Black is the new white!” Foxx began in his opening monologue.

The really curious comments came soon after:

“I got a new movie coming out, Django, check it out…Django Unchained, I play a slave. How black is that? In the movie, I have to wear chains. How whack is that? But don’t be worried about it, because I get out [of] the chains, I save my wife, and I kill all the white people in the movie. How great is that? And how black is that?” [Emphasis added]

Foxx then proceeded to discuss how Obama will comport himself over the next four years:

He’s [going] to be extra black these next four years; he’s [going] to get everything black … white people don’t get nervous about that because he is mixed. Now the first four years was the white side of him… but the next four years he’s even changing his name to President Barack Dikembe Mutombo Tupac Mandela Hussein Obama X. How black is that?” [Emphasis added]

    comments

Simple. Just boycott anything that has to do with Jamie Foxx.

See what Jamie has not figured out yet is that we are all slaves. We are slaves to the government. Do not pay your taxes and your personal property will be seized and you will be put in jail. That is, unless you are a member of Barry’s inner circle.

    ...

    ok I’ll call his bluff….

The DJANGO series of movies were Spaghetti Westerns filmed by joint Italian/Spanish productions featuring a WHITE european actor in the lead role..in fact the same actor appears in this fim of Foxx’s in a different role. Foxx is merely living off the ideas and success of WHITE europeans more than 3 decades ago..how black is that?

    ..

Can you imagine if a WHITE actor joked about "killing all the black people ... isn't that great!"

    ...

Your comments are all about the division of black and white Mr. Foxx. I used to like your movies, now I can’t watch you without thinking how much you must dissaprove of me because I am not the same color as you are. We are going backwards, and that makes me sad as well.

    ..

I saw SNL and heard the garbage come out of his month….I also saw the trailer at the movies the other night and saw right through the Hollywood bigotry! If a white person said those things they would have been crucified! I won’t pay one thin dime to see that movie so I could sit there and be humiliated by a racist pig! I have never been racist and will not allow some low life pig to put me down because some white guys in the 1800′s used Africans as slave! Get over it Foxx and grow up and be a man!

    Adolph Reed, Jr.: Racist
    Patterico @ 7:40 am 12/20/2012

Adolph L. Reed, Jr. takes to the pages of the nation’s foremost newspaper to denounce Tim Scott as a token: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/19/op...ans.html?_r=1&

Mr. Scott will replace Senator Jim DeMint, who is leaving to run Heritage Foundation. He will be the first black senator from the South since Reconstruction; the first black Republican senator since 1979, when Edward W. Brooke of Massachusetts retired; and, indeed, only the seventh African-American ever to serve in the chamber.

But this “first black” rhetoric tends to interpret African-American political successes — including that of President Obama — as part of a morality play that dramatizes “how far we have come.” It obscures the fact that modern black Republicans have been more tokens than signs of progress.

    . . . .

Mr. Scott’s background is also striking: raised by a poor single mother, he defeated, with Tea Party backing, two white men in a 2010 Republican primary: a son of Thurmond and a son of former Gov. Carroll A. Campbell Jr. But his politics, like those of the archconservative Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas, are utterly at odds with the preferences of most black Americans. Mr. Scott has been staunchly anti-tax, anti-union and anti-abortion.

Even if the Republicans managed to distance themselves from the thinly veiled racism of the Tea Party adherents who have moved the party rightward, they wouldn’t do much better among black voters than they do now. I suspect that appointments like Mr. Scott’s are directed less at blacks — whom they know they aren’t going to win in any significant numbers — than at whites who are inclined to vote Republican but don’t want to have to think of themselves, or be thought of by others, as racist.
Crazy thought here: maybe Scott’s appointment was aimed at getting a good man for the job. Oh no wait, that can’t be right, Mr. Reed assures us, because he’s black. If he were white, he might have been picked for merit, but since he’s black, it has to have been racial politics behind the decision.

    Who’s the racist again?

For Mr. Scott, the true test will come in 2014, when he will have to run to complete the final two years of Mr. DeMint’s term. (If Mr. Scott wins, he’d have to run again, in 2016, for a full six-year term.) As Mr. Obama has shown, the question is not whether whites are willing to vote for a black candidate, but whether black candidates can put together winning coalitions (no matter their racial makeup) and around what policies. I suspect black South Carolinians will not be drawn to Mr. Scott.

The trope of the black conservative has retained a man-bites-dog newsworthiness that is long past its shelf life. Clichés about fallen barriers are increasingly meaningless; symbols don’t make for coherent policies. Republicans will not gain significant black support unless they take policy positions that advance black interests. No number of Tim Scotts — or other cynical tokens — will change that.
Let me translate that for you. Tim Scott isn’t allowed to think the way he does because of the color of his skin. And you have to understand, there are “black interests” that are different from the interests of others. And if you don’t cater to those interests, then you aren’t a real black person and you will never win over black people.

    Who’s the racist again?

I, for one, am sick of this kind of rhetoric, and disappointed (though certainly not surprised) to see such racism splashed across the pages of the nation’s pre-eminent journal.

Time to drag out something from a post from 2010: http://patterico.com/2010/04/21/mich...ote-republican

Check out Larry Elder addressing the same issue to a skeptical black correspondent: http://townhall.com/columnists/Larry...&comments=true

Do you know that inner-city parents want vouchers — the right to determine where their children go to school? Do you know most Democrats, including Barack Obama, oppose this? Republicans, for the most part, support vouchers. Where vouchers have been tried, kids appear to perform better, with higher parental satisfaction. You tell me, how many things are more important than a child’s education?

Do you know that 36 percent of babies aborted are black, while blacks make up 17 percent of live births? Do you know that polls show blacks are more pro-life than are whites? Yet the Democratic Party — to which over 90 percent of blacks belong — is the party of Roe v. Wade, requiring states to legalize abortion on demand. Do you know that Margaret Sanger, the founder of the organization that became Planned Parenthood, believed that poor blacks were inferior and that aborting their babies made our society better? Look it up.

Do you know that blacks stand to benefit more than whites through Social Security privatization, a position opposed by Obama but supported by McCain? Are you even familiar with the issue and what a powerful income-generating vehicle it would be for blacks? If not, take a look at the research done by the libertarian think tank Cato Institute and the conservative think tank Heritage Foundation.
Good, huh? He’s just getting warmed up.

You speak of policies that have “proven not to work.” What about the “war on poverty” that began in the ’60s, the policies that Obama and his party want to continue and expand? Do you know that today 70 percent of black children and over 50 percent of Hispanics are born outside of wedlock? The welfare state — which Democrats want to expand — has played a huge role in discouraging marriage and destabilizing families. . . . Compassion is not about making people dependent on government. Compassion is about encouraging personal responsibility, and getting people to understand that life is about making choices.
Are there racist Republicans? Sure, just like there are racist Democrats.

But there are a lot of us who think our policies are actually best for black folks. And white folks, and brown folks, and all kinds of folks. Letting the market work isn’t just for white people. It benefits everybody.

I don’t accept the argument that black people in America have a separate set of issues that we have to cater to. They are Americans and we need to work to make the lives of all Americans better. If that happens, we should win elections.

And maybe black people will be allowed to think conservative thoughts without being called inauthentic tokens.

    Nah. Who am I kidding?

8.ESPN talking head Rob Parker (who is incidentally black) went on a crazy rant last week where he said that 2011 Heisman winner Robert Griffin III, the star rookie quarterback for the Washington Redskins, is not an authentic black person because he is rumored to be Republican and he has a white fiancee. ESPN has suspended him, however, the comments have been largely swept under the rug by the MFM.

These lefties have no concept of Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech and the notion of judging someone by their merit and content of character, rather than by the color of their skin.

    ...

Mr. Reed has a dream, in which black people will be judged by racial stereotypes rather than the content of their character. It’s a thing.

There is a cover-up going on. My niece works there... there were gun shots heard. The local paper ran an onling article about two suspects - including descriptions - and reports of a gun dumped in a particular stores' rubbish bin. Shortly afterwards - the link was scrubbed and no "suspects" identified. I have friends and family in LE and the PTB are playing this down in a BIG WAY.
