Obama housing nominee: Most white people won’t vote for black candidate, should be excluded from ‘democratic process’
    1:15 PM 05/01/2013

President Obama’s pick to head the Federal Housing Finance Agency once said that a “majority of white voters” would never vote for a black candidate and that they should be excluded from “the democratic process.”

The White House announced Wednesday that Obama will nominate Democratic North Carolina Congressman Mel Watt to take over the FHFA, which regulates Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the country’s government sponsored mortgage companies.

Watt, the former chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, has in the past accused white Americans of racism.

“There would be a substantial majority of white voters who would say that under no circumstances would they vote for an African American candidate,” Watt said October 14, 2005 during a Washington hearing held by the National Commission on the Voting Rights Act.

The Voting Rights Act should be expanded to “adjust districts to take [racially motivated voting] into account,” Watts said.

Such voters “need to be factored out of the equation,” Watt said, because “I’ve got no use for them in the democratic process.”

According to a contemporaneous report of the hearing published by the Cybercast News Service, Watt said that black voters — unlike whites — don’t have “an absolute commitment” to voting for a candidate based on race.

“Black people have not had the luxury of being able to say, ‘Under no circumstances will I vote for a white candidate,’” Watt said in his remarks.
Obama would win 43 percent of the white vote in 2008 — the largest share for any Democrat in a two-man race since 1976 — along with 95 percent of the black vote.

In 2004, progressive independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader claimed that Watt hurled a “racial epithet” at him during Nader’s meeting with the Congressional Black Caucus, which urged Nader to suspend his campaign and support John Kerry.

Nader alleged in a letter that Watt said, “You’re just another arrogant white man – telling us what we can do – it’s all about your ego – another f–king arrogant white man.” Nader demanded an apology from Watt.

Watt will replace acting director Ed DeMarco, who has served in that post since 2009. DeMarco has become a punching bag for the administration’s liberal critics who have hammered him for his unwillingness to enact principal reduction, which would reset many underwater Fannie and Freddie loans to fair-market value.

Principal reduction would reportedly provide disproportionate relief to minority homeowners.

In 2008, following the collapse of the subprime mortgage market, Watt said that a government task force should be established to combat racial discrimination in housing lending.

“[T]here needs to be a more coordinated approach to dealing with these issues of discrimination, failure to be fair in loan terms,” Watt said in June 12, 2008 remarks before the House Judiciary Committee.

Watts said that minorities were “disproportionately more” encouraged to take on subprime, rather than prime, loans by housing lenders.

“When you’re black, and you live in the world for 63 years, it is — I don’t need empirical evidence to tell me discrimination exists.”

The Best Thing You'll See All Day:
Kids React To Interracial Cheerios Commercial

Posted July 15, 2013 by Christina Coleman for Global Grind Staff

Remember that "controversial" (but not really) interracial Cheerios commercial that got all the racists in the world upset? http://globalgrind.com/news/cheerios...mmercial-video

Well, some genius thought it would be a good idea to put the commercial to the real test to see if adults are bugging for no reason, or, if the subject of interracial marriage/dating is still very much taboo.

The findings from this very non-scientific but brilliant experiment? Racism is stupid.

See these insightful kids drop some real knowledge...and say the dardnest things. I bet you won't be able to keep a smile off of your face.

i think obama and holder can learn something from these kids. obama and holder are adults who seem to feel inferior based on the color of their skin and are personally showing their own discrimination (just recently holder stated that he spoke again to his son about how hard it is being black in a white man's world...and obama's comments on an ongoing investigation that the dead youth if he had been his son would look like trayvon....)

PS i love that cheerios commercial - the little girl is soooooooooooo cute and her facial expressions make me smile from ear to ear

Improperly Displayed Asparagus Sparks Racial Tensions
    Jul 18 • A Paradigm Shift

There is a tinge of uneasiness in the air these days about the skin color of other people. Groups of humans are up in arms over both real and perceived bigotry from other groups of humans who happen to have differing levels of melanin production. The mainstream is no help in this matter. Various media outlets stoke divide on all sides, as if blaming things on another person’s skin color or even responding to obstinate shills who encourage intolerance are solutions to the world’s problems.

Unfortunately some people still buy into the narrow-minded view of treating someone poorly because they look different. Such repugnance should have died out a long time ago, but every now and then society is reminded of just how senseless their fellow humans can be. The tension in the air over the Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman trial has risen to epic proportion. Stories are popping up online about senseless violence being enacted against others for holding differing opinions over the outcome of this case.

In University City, MO fear of discrimination persuaded a city official to write a letter to a popular grocery chain. According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, David Olander was perusing the produce section of the University City Schnucks. He noticed the asparagus weren’t resting in a tray of water. “It was just sitting there dried out,” said Olander, a member of the city’s human relations commission.

Olander summoned an assistant manager, and then he asked the question: Did the quality of the asparagus have any relationship to the store’s location in a black neighborhood? “‘I certainly hope not,’” Olander recalled the manager saying.

Olander’s experience prompted him to write a letter to Schnucks CEO Scott Schnuck, and out of that came a meeting with Schnucks employees. But the letter and meeting were tinged with allegations that the St. Louis area’s largest grocery chain was discriminating against minority communities — accusations that Schnucks vehemently denies. “Schnucks does not discriminate on any level,” said spokeswoman Lori Willis.

Olander, meanwhile, stands by his actions. The asparagus he saw back in May was a far cry from the asparagus he had seen at the Schnucks about eight miles away in Ladue, where it sat in water, looking beautiful, he told his fellow commissioners, according to a recording of the meeting.

As for the asparagus, Willis said Schnucks displays it uniformly at all its stores. On the day Olander visited, Willis said the tray of water in which the vegetable sat had simply tipped over. Employees quickly corrected the problem.

Seattle Is Banning The Term BROWN BAG
    …Yes You Heard Me Right

    Posted on 8/4/2013

Seattle city workers have been advised to stop using the phrase ‘brown bag.” The city’s Office for Civil Rights said the term is potentially offensive.

    To who, lunch ladies?

Instead of saying ‘brown bag lunch’, workers will now be instructed to say ‘sack lunch’.

Now most Americans with at least a handful of functioning brain cells would know that brown bag means to bring a baloney sandwich from home. But the Office of Civil Rights said the phrase brings up the nation’s ugly racial past.

I know, folks. It’s the West Coast.

But maybe the folks in Seattle could help the rest of the nation by developing a list of offensive words – a sort of racial primer?

I’m sure words like ‘black hole’ and ‘dark chocolate’ would make the list. And what are they going to call it when the lights go out?

While we’re on the subject, I need some help. What’s a non-offensive way of calling somebody a politically correct nut job?
