If you have a web browser on your phone, just click on the short website link that’s also included with your answer to see a reference website with more information. Since ChaCha uses human guides, you can easily reply with follow-on questions as if you are exchanging messages with a friend.

ChaCha is free but standard text messaging rates and voice minutes may still apply based on your mobile provider's plan. I don't think it's a stupid question but I do believe You missed the part about texting. All of the exchanging of information, (questions and answers) seems to be done by text messaging. So for that You must need a phone that can text. I don't know of regular phones that can text. I realize that regular phones have the numbers on them but they don't text to my knowledge. But honestly I couldn't say. I don't even know how to text except I can say it was explained to me and although it sounded easy.... I thought that it was a much longer process than I would want to have to do. It makes me appreciate the telephone for the voice and sound transmission. I also know texting seems to me almost like a step back in time but My daughter who is 15 is so into it that she has unlimited texting on her cell phone. Me??? I just want to say... hey I need a gallon of milk stop and pick it up to my hubby and be done with it. ha ha.

No, you do NOT need a cell phone. ChaCha Guides work from their computers. The customers use their cell phones to ask us questions, we use the ChaCha program to answer their questions. Hope that helps.

The customers text their questions to ChaCha. When they do so, the questions are sent out to Guides, where we get a message on our computer screen asking if we would like to answer the questions. The whole text thing is not just through phones. The customer can also go to www.chacha.com to send a question to ChaCha Guides but need a cell phone to get the answer.
