Problem with Rite Aid RE: Coupons and Sales
Have any of you had a problem with Rite Aid's registers not letting cashiers scan two coupons during a BOGO? I was able to get them last week but this week I cannot. I'm trying to get some information from Rite Aid corporate but I'm wondering if any of you knew anything about this or had similar experiences.
The cashier said and I quote after it wouldn't scan " They're not going to give you the other coupon off because you're already getting one for free." That's bogus because I should be allowed to use them.
I have a copy of the Rite Aid policy and it says I can use them. So, are Rite Aid stores making up their own rules for coupons and locking the registers to give us coupon savvy people trouble?
I'm also having trouble with the ligit $5 off $20 purchase coupons from the adperks not scanning and having to be punched in and okayed by a manager every time. Its very frustrating.
To add to my distress, the ad in the Rite Aid circular this week says save up to 4.99 for the Tylenol on sale and pictures both Extra Strength and 8 hour 24 ct. for the BOGO sale. Unfortunately, they will not let you BOGO with one of each type. The 8 hr is priced at 5.99 at my Rite Aid so no BOGO and they only had one of the 8 hr. I was quite mad. So is this a possible mispricing or misprint in the ad? And - the bigger question - is it possible my Rite Aid is purposely not stocking enough of the sale items so they don't lose money?

I have to agree with them and say no. It's already free, so how can you get more money off of it?

Is that something you printed at home? Mine don't scan well if I'm running out of ink, so they type in the number. No big deal.

The free Tylenol should be which ever one is cheaper. I don't see where it says anything about not being able to get the same item free, so I don't know why they told you no.
ETA: I just went back and looked at their ad again, and I see what they did. Kinda, sorta misleading the way it's written. It should read "Buy ES Tylenol and get Tylenol 8 Hour for Free." But since the ad does say "Save $4.99 (the price of the 8 hour), they have their butts covered.

I don't generally shop at Rite Aid, but I am big on couponing. That having been said, I have found that you can only use two coupons on BOGOF if that store in fact charges 1/2 price for items that are BOGOF. Rather than charging full price for one item, and 0 for the second, so technically you couldn't use 2 coupons, because the second item would have no cost, so you'd be wasting a coupon, anyway.
So, next time you are at rite aid, or any store, watch how the items ring up, or look on the receipt. If the items ring up for 1/2 price, you should be able to use the coupon, unless the store has a specific policy regarding such.

They used to ring things up as 1/2 price during a BOGO but they recently started charging full and zero to avoid the coupons. I don't know why really. They get reimbursed so they're not losing money if they charge half price each and let us use two.
I know what you mean. I understand why the coupon wouldn't work. They can't take the amount off of the zero because it would be below zero afterwards which is against their policy. I just figured they could deduct from the net purchase price of the two items but I guess not. I guess they have to subtract off of each item even though they're bogo-ed.
