Where can i find free sharps container for diabetics - Big Big Forums

I don't know if this is in the right place but I am an insulin dependent diabetic and I need a sharps container. I did a search ans found the posted site for diabetics but it does not work. Thank you

When I couldn't find them for my husband, his diabetic nurse said we could put them in sturdy plastic bottles, and mark them (white bleach bottles, black magic markers) and tape over the cap when filled. Soda and water bottles are too flimsy. You want something that the sharps won't puncture.

My problem was finding someone that would accept them for disposal in general. I think we took them to the local hospital, specifically to the kidney unit.

Don't you call your county health department? I was in charge of getting them when I worked as a dental assistant, and I am sure that I contacted the health department. Even if you can't get them there, they will be able to tell you where to go.

I did do a Google search and it looks like the company Enbrel is giving them away. Here is there toll free # 1-888-4ENBREL
