Re: Any pain relieving freebies or help????

I have a friend that has Fibromyalgia and a few other things and she has been going to a chiropractor and he has helped her tremendously!! (But you have to find a good one). She said she feels like a different person and has recently painted her kitchen.

Going to a chiroprocter has helped a lot of my headaches also.

Good information for Vitamin D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_D

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osteomalacia - may help one understand the symptoms of Osteomalacia:

Osteomalacia is a condition of defective bone mineralisation which may result in pain, weakness, and fragility of the bones.

Osteomalacia in humans starts insidiously, as aches and pains in the lumbar (lower back or spine) region and thighs, spreading later to the arms and ribs. Pain is non-radiating, symmetrical, and accompanied by tenderness in the involved bones. Proximal muscles are weak, and there is difficulty in climbing up stairs and getting up from a squatting position. Physical signs include deformities like triradiate pelvis and spinal kyphosis. The patient has a typical "waddling gait". Pathologic fractures due to weight bearing may develop.

REMEMBER: Bones go all through your body like blood, it's everywhere.

After 20 + years of chronic pain, my rheumatologist did a Vitamin. D level and found my bones are depleted of Vitamin D = soft bones. All women should have their Vitamin D levels checked because at the age of 20 one should be taking in 200 units of Vitamin D daily!! Prior to this discovery, all we treated were symptoms and fibromyalgia. After being on supplements, and my prescribed meds, I am doing better than I have in the last 20 years. This is very important to women’s overall health because it eliminates treating symptoms, not the actual problem.

(Men should be checked too cuz they have bones).

    Best wishes!

    -K.

Re: Any pain relieving freebies or help????

Thank you for all of the information that has been posted. I have tried both a Chiropractor and also I have tried Physical Therapy. Both have not helped at all, in fact they have actually made things worse. I have tried all of the prescription medications that were listed, but they didn't help either. So noe I am up to 2- 10 mg. Percocet 4 times a day, Soma 3 times a day, Dicyclomine for my IBS 4 times a day, 800 mg. Ibeprofen 3 times a day, 900 mg. of Neurontin 3 times a day, I alternate between Relpax, Zomig, and Amerge when I get a migraine. Xanax up to 3 times a day if needed, but I really try not to take it because of the way it makes me feel. And 3 mg. Lunesta so that I am able to sleep maybe 4 hours instead of just 1 or 2 hours. I halve also tried having Epidural injectiond in the nerves in my lower back , but they only made things worse so we stopped those. Later this month am am going to see a Neurologist for my migraines and hopefully they will be able to come up with something that will help those.

I know awhile back someone had posted a free sample for this all natural pain relieving gel that actually really helped alot at least for awhile. But I can't remember what the name of it was. All I can remember is that it was from Utah and the gell was green and it was made of all natural ingredients. If anyone can figure out the name of that gel and where I can find it that would be great.

I will try some of the other things that were posted however and see if any of them help. I really hope they do. There are days when I am just in so much pain that I can't move and none of my medication helps at all and all I can do is just lay in bed and cry all day because i hurt so bad. So anything is worth a try to see if I can get any relief. So thank you for all of your advice and suggestions and anymore is geratly welcome also.

I also suffer from migraine headaches, it runs in my family.
My doctor who has treated my entire family for the past 20 years advised us all to avoid dairy products in particular. Also to take 'Advil' for the pain.
I am lactose intolerant, so I usually avoid dairy products in general. I can tell you that when my dad was alive, he stopped taking dairy and once he did, he rarely suffered from migraines again.
If you want to go the 'holistic' route, I use ginger. Usually I buy the ground ginger and then I put at least a heaping teaspoon full into some hot tea whenever I get migraines and it relieves some of the pain. My ex-husband used to take it whenever he got headaches and it seriously worked for him and got rid of them.
Good luck to you and I hope that you can find some help!

Re: Any pain relieving freebies or help????

Wow! Am I glad to hear that about Cymbalta and checked out the website!!
I was on that poison for about 6 weeks when it made me stop sleeping altogether. (That doesn't help fibro at all.) It helped with my depression but not much for anything else.

Anyway, I use Sombra. It's like Biofreeze except it is tons cheaper and lasts a lot longer. Last time I bought a jar was about 6 years ago, it was $11 then and I still have 1/3 of a jar left...and I use it a lot. In fact, I've even given some of it away to friends for them to try. It has a pungent odor but that goes away quickly (otherwise it clears up the sinuses).

Other than that I have been fortunate. Was diagnosed with Fibro, Chronic Fatigue and migraines 7 years ago. I went from not being able to go to the grocery store by myself (couldn't pick up anything without dropping it) to being almost back to normal by really watching my diet and eliminating the things I'm allergic to (pectin is a huge allergen for me). It's worth a try to do that and it's free.
    Nothing to see here.

Re: Any pain relieving freebies or help????

Thanks everyone for the information. I am another of the fibro unfortunates. I would advise seeing a neurologist. Mine has me on a cocktail of the various medications that have been listed from many. Thankfully none of the cymbalta! Anyway, I dont know of the green goo that is being spoken of, but I do have a cream that I got at a flea market and it is really good. It is made of natural ingrediants and really works well. It is called Regina's Gold ointment. The family that made it did so because of a family member having the fibro and I believe migranes. (Not so sure about the migrane, but the whole fibro thing got me going). They have a 15 day money back guarantee. It can get pricy, but this stuff works and you dont use a lot of it! I was willing to buy it because any amount of money would be worth it, if it made the pain go away or lessened it. I remember those horrible days of laying in bed crying and not being able to even brush my hair because my HAIR even hurt!

So after rambling on here is the information:

    email: reginasgold@hotmail.com

    Snail mail:
    Regina's Herbal Remedies
    5650 Aiken Rd
    McKees Rocks, PA 15136
    phone/fax 412-494-4832

They gave me a sample to try, and advised to start at the ankles and apply up--I am sure they will be happy to send information, and answer any questions. I just know it has helped me with the pain and aching (and crying begging for the flu symptoms because I KNEW those aches and pains would leave but what I was dealing with WOULDNT)! I dont work for them, or even know the people, all I know is it sure has helped me.

And, as so many of the others have said on this thread, if you need someone to vent to, or need a shoulder to cry on, here is my email also
    dwarring@hotmail.com

God Bless, and many gentle hugs for all of those out there that need them, whether it is just having a rough day, or living with the many issues that we all deal with.
