Pop tops from soda cans-Is there anywhere to send them in for charities

I was watching Extreme makeover-home edition tonight & the son on there was collecting pop tops from soda cans & sends them in where they get money for them & then the money is used to buy toys & needed items for cancer patients.

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can send some to?

This would be a great idea to get my daughters into to help give back to others in need.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thank you!

I give them to a friend for his daughter's Girl Scout troop. I also heard the local Lion's Club collects them here in Jefferson Hills, PA.
Hope that helps.

That was an awesome show tonight. We collect them and donate them to our local hospital for cancer patients. Just try calling your local hospital are emailing Extreme home makeover. =]

I just looked in the phone book and the people that were on that show tonight number is listed in there. Wanna call them and find out where to send them? I'll pm you the phone number if you want it.

I know that Ronald McDonald House & Shriner's Hospitals both collect them & get cash. They are both great charities.

Check with your local schools too. All of the local schools here collect them. If you have kids or neighbor kids, they will probably be thrilled to get them. My son's school has contests between the classes, and they get gobs of them! I think they use them for Kidney Dialysis here.

Re: Pop tops from soda cans-Is there anywhere to send them in for charities

Two things: you can check with your local American Legion, as many of them across the U.S. take the tabs, sell them to scrap metal dealers, then turn the money in for patient's useage of kidney dialysis machines. OR you can sell them outright yourself to a scrap metal dealer, then take the cash & donate it to the charity of your choice.

Ronald McDonald houses (near Childrens Hospitals across the U.S.) collect pop tops for operating funds, at least the one in Columbus does. check the Ronald McDonald house near you.
