any deals on mac pigment? - Big Big Forums

my daughter asked for this for Christmas, I am not familiar with this brand. Can anyone advice on finding the best deal on it? thanks in advance

MAC is sold in specialty MAC stores and Nordstroms. As far as I know, those are the best places, plus, of course ebay. On ebay you can get 'samples" made up by the sellers. I would guess there could be other high $ stores that carry it, but not sure. It's not at jones, dillards or sephora.
The pigment is like glitter. You put a base liquidy eyeshadow (MAC's paints, for instance--looks like a little paint tube, you put it on with a brush) and then put it on quickly so it stays where you want it.
Each little container has tons of uses. The samples are a great way to go, esp. if she's never tried them before.
Look up mac cosmetics online to see the current colors. At Christmas time there should be a three pack or something like that for $35-40. I'm not sure but they are around $18 a piece maybe?
I love their blushes and lipsticks, usually I buy them from ebay or trade elsewhere for them. They have great palettes. I got one new from ebay with 2 blushes, 2 lipsticks and 4 eyeshadows and I save it for travel...everything I could want in one place.
Hope this helps. There are no coupons and no discounts except holiday packaging that I've heard of.

thanks for all of the info, I may try ebay, most of the samples say there is 1/4 teaspoon? wow doesn't seem like much? I wasn't sure about that, I think I would rather get a couple of full sized ones or maybe wait til Christmas and get the holiday package you were talking about, that sounds like a nice gift. 1/4 tsp. is actually a lot. It's enough for a couple dozen uses even if she spills it all over the counter while applying. I've found that people who love mac have dozens of them, and it's pretty expensive to build a collection when she's never even tried it before.
it's hard to say how you want to buy it for her...you'll really need her input on what colors she wants since there is a wide range from fairly mild --all are glitter--to extremely bright colors that you can really see accross a room.

Try going to MUA and check out the makeup board. That's pretty much all they talk about is MAC pigments. Just ask them, they can tell you everything you'd ever need to know.

Go to http://www.freegirlystuff.com/ and they sell Mac pigment samples for $3.75. I buy from them all the time and they take PayPal.

thanks, actually I took the advice to try ebay and I have bought 12 samples for 30.00 total with shipping from a really nice seller =)
