Keep in mind, you might want to check out the price of "Interceptor" too, it does exactly the same thing, but, for me and my BIG dogs, was far cheaper than Heartgard. It is also by prescription only, it prevents heartworm, and several other types of worms too, it is also given monthly.
***Well, I just checked the site, they don't carry the Interceptor, you could price it at your vet though. I was checking their prices for Advantage flea control(which works GREAT for my Rotty), awesome prices !

They even have a generic brand of the Heartgard, with the same medicine ! Good price on it as well !
