Be REAL careful if you are buying a used system (PS2) because we got our kids a system when they first came out and were REALLY hard to find and its a piece of junk. It plays some games, then others (newer) ones won't load. Anyway, I bought them a new system recently and they are 'supposed' to be better than the old ones. As for a new one, I got mine at Walmart for $199.00 but KBToys has got the system for $199.00 and for a limited time you get a free accessory pack with it. ($29 value). The accessory pack has carry case, extra controller, and adapter. There game are also fairly reasonable. http:
