I would really like to bring the kids to San Diego and go to Sea World. I would like to stay 2 nights and 3 days. What hotels are tried and true and where can you find the cheapest tickets for this park. I have been to the website, but you guys/girls always have the best advice. Thanks in advance!

If you know anyone who is in the military, or works for civil service, they can get discount tickets to Sea World for you at the Morale & Welfare Ticket office. Right now they are running for $36.95 for adults, and $28.95 for kids 3-9 years. The regular price at the gate is $44.95 and $34.95. Not a huge savings, but decent. As far as hotels go, it depends on what part of town you want to stay in. If you want to be centrally located and somewhat near Sea World, I would recommed Hotel Circle. There are some big name hotels as well as smaller ones there, with a variety of prices.

Don't stay in Hotel Circle. Though it may have a lot of hotels, you will pay the most there. If you stay just up the hill in Linda Vista, Clairemont, or Kerney Mesa you will pay less and will still be close to Sea World. Right now at Sea World they have a "Come one Day, Stay the Year" deals where your one day ticket can be transformed into a year pass with no extra cost. Also, don't pay for parking! There is a Mission Bay Boat Ramp (I can email you a map if you want) where you can park for FREE and you are only a 5 min walk from the front gate (you actually park right next to the Sea World parking lot), and it saves you about $10 I think. A lot of the hotels here that arn't in the heart of mission valley are running some great deals with free meals, or half price nights, etc. I'm not sure how many times you've been here, but if you have any questions about the city, let me know (Lukeed@yahoo.com). I'm one of the few natives (born and raised) in town ;-)
