are there any free tax filing web-sites out there?
please help me! i am trying to file my taxes for free on-line...does anyone know of a we-site i can go to so i can do this?

try taxact.com. I used it for my son. You have to make less than 30,000 a year . I believe.

If you download Taxslayer at www.taxslayer.com you can do your taxes (print and snail mail the forms) for FREE. If you e-file thru Taxslayer it is only $9.95 and includes free state filing.

They do offer lower-income totally free (less than $30K).

free tax filing
I used a service linked from the www.irs.gov web site that was for incomes over $50,000 and it was very easy to use. My refund was deposited in my bank account 9 days after I filed online! THere was a charge for filing the state form, so I'm doing that one the old fashioned way.

If you are one of the approximately 60 million American taxpayers with an adjusted gross income (AGI) of $27,000 or less for 2002, or who can claim the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), you qualify!
