I totally agree. I keep my eye out as well, and I do find wonderful deals. Kohl's is one of my favorites. Here, in and around Columbus, Ohio, we have many outlet malls as well, and if you get in at the right time of the year, they liquidate, too.

My problem sometimes, as well as many people I know is, they can't actually physically go shopping. Online sales, if you do your homework, can be just as good as B&M. There are really great finds on the internet, but you have to weigh it all, including shipping costs.

At least you have a "Super Wal-Mart"!!LOL There are none to be had anywhere out here, and I love them. Our nearest shopping is eight miles down the road; but, fortunately, we have a Tangor Outlet and BJ's there too. We have a grocery store in town, but it's not as nice or as big as the ones down the road. Other than that, we go out one day on the weekend to make our rounds to the places a bit further away like Sam's Club, the mall, Kohl's (of course!!), etc., and go out to eat. I go through every newspaper flier first and put an asterick next to any products/items that are great deals (like, this week, CVS has 12 packs of name-brand soda for $1.99). After 20 years, I've got the couponing/rebating/shopping thing down to a science. Patience is a virtue too; if you can wait for things you want. I wanted to buy one of those professional, stainless steel deep friers. I waited, watched the prices at every store I went to, and kept an eye out (even online). Finally, I came across it at BJ's that was on it's last one and was moving this particular item out for another one. They had it marked down to $42.00. This deep frier was selling everywhere else (in-store and on-line) for $99.99.
These "clubs" can give you great clearance deals when they are trying to move out merchandise (even on food). To me, this is all like a hobby to me and I enjoy it; although, I know some people find it too much bother for them. You wouldn't believe how many times I've heard people say that they can't be bothered cutting out coupons--they don't have the time!!

Wackydackydoo~
You are lucky! The closest Sams is 100 miles from me, the closest BJ's is in Ohio! LOL

I like having the Super Wal-Mart, but once you've been in there for the 5th time in one week ~ I know that store like the back of my hand! ~ I live on a military base out here, so I do have access to a PX (I have closets that are bigger) and the Commisary (grocery) is my only saving grace! I coupon and wait for sales and I do rebates (I am not as good at that yet).

We drive to Rolla ~ 25 miles from here, to go to the bank, shop at JC Penney (stand alone store not in a mall), they also have a Big Lots and a Kmart (don't like Kmart much) .

My biggest problem is I can't get fliers from the newspapers. I ordered the Springfield paper, and I get no fliers and when I called them, they said because I live so far away they don't include them (it's 85 miles from me). And they only paper I can pick up locally is the Pulaski County Demacrat ~1 page weekly paper for the county! and St. Louis (still no fliers though but they do include Sunday coupons)!

So I am still at a disadvantage! LOL Sometimes I can check the fliers online for stores if I know I am going to the area ~ but it's still hard!

Anyhow, thanks for listening to me ramble, I don't mind living out here cause it's nice and quite but I sure do miss the shopping!

Feel free to email me ~ D2230@yahoo.com

whatever the the orginal friggin price was is or should be doesnt really matter. You cant beat $20-$30 for a really nice coat. Of course Marshalls are over priced. Who the heck (that is a sane person)would pay $60 for a sweater for a toddler? Macy's is overpriced too. But I bought a beautiful evening dress for $75 dollars (originally listed at $400) that I could not have bought in Walmart.

I hear ya!! I always seem to end up living in no-man's land. Where I lived before, the closest major shopping was about 36 miles away (no biggie); but I did live in the Super Wal-Mart there too!! I never buy clothes there though, but I loved the supermarket part; and it was so big, I was known to wander around until 12:00 midnight or so!!

Now, I live in another desolate area; but they are starting to build more and more shopping in that area eight miles down the road. I do like making the rounds on the weekend to do the other shopping further away, but it's the unloading the van and unpacking the bags and putting things away that I dread!!LOL

Oh, but how I still wish for a Super Wal-Mart!!
