I have one in the car, my desk at work and in my purse. They are very convenient. I am so glad they are so much smaller than they use to be. My first monitor was huge and cost a fortune.

If you have health insurance you might want to check and see if the insurance company will cover the test strips for any of these at a generic price. I have United and they cover the Free Style and One Touch test strips as a generic.

Several of these are still valid. Most of the manufacturer's have an ongoing freebie because they make their money from the test strips and lancets you need for them.

This a really great find----thanks! I, too was diagnoised with type 2 diabetes two years ago, but I have found that when you recieve some of these free meters, they have no test sticks with them, so you have to go and buy the strips before you can use them. Does anyone know of any participating company that you get the strips also with the meter? I could really use a new meter, but can't afford the strips right now.
