The City of Huntington Beach enjoys numerous outdoor summer concerts with a fantastic line up of bands for the public to enjoy free of charge. Below is a list of venues, featured bands, times, locations and additional information.

International Surfing Museum 2005 Concerts 411 Olive St. 714-960-3483 The popular concerts in the Museum parking lot are coming back for a 5th season. Over 100 different bands from all over Southern California and the world have performed for the Museum. The concerts feature the original 1st wave 60's era bands to the 2nd wave bands from the 70's and 80's to the current 3rd wave bands. The concerts are two Sundays per month from April to October in the Museum parking lot. Occasionally, the concert series moves to the Pier Plaza Amphitheater.

Huntington Beach Band Concerts 2005 at Central Park Band Shell

Concerts in Huntington Beach are offered free during the summer and are held overlooking the beach at Pier Plaza (Pacific Coast Highway at Pacific Coast Highway), International Surfing Museum (Olive and 5th Street) and Huntington Central Park (Golden West at Talbert). They are held on Saturday or Sunday except during special holiday events. Concerts begin at 5:00 PM and are FREE to the public. The location is at the Central Park band shell behind Central Library. The concerts bring jazz, funk, rock, pop, blues, Cajun, classical, swing, surfing, Rhythm and Blues, Rockabilly, Soul, hip hop and a variety of types of music to this band-progressive town where live bands are featured every night of the year in local pubs, bars, restaurants and clubs. Free concerts are available in public open-air concerts at Pier Plaza, Huntington Beach International Surfing Museum parking lot and Huntington Central Park. Golden West College used to feature free outdoor summer concerts but currently only offers pay concerts with student and faculty performances during the school year.

Also available for a fee are top wave artists appearing on KTWV, brought to the city from the well-connected Bennish team that raises funds for Autism. Those concerts are featured throughout the year in the Huntington Beach Central Library and Cultural Center and a special Concert in the Park is held in September with a full day of smooth jazz from top artists.

Many fantastic musicians come from Huntington Beach. One of the original surf bands, Jan & Dean is fortunate to have Dean Torrence living in Huntington Beach. There's jazz composer and pianist, Keiko Matsui. One of the members of Korn owns Tuna Town on Main Street. Tom Kubis at Golden West College is world renowned for his jazz compositions. Music is the heart and soul of Surf City. Golden Bear was once a night club bringing top artists to the city to perform.

July 3, 2005 Concerts in the Park - Summer Series 2005 includes outstanding performances featuring jazz, traditional favorites, marches, show tunes and classics for all ages. July 17, 2005 - Band - Bone Daddys 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM The City of Huntington Beach and Farmers and Merchants Bank present The Bone Daddys, a diverse group of Los Angeles-based musicians who come together to make party music for party people. One of the very first American World Beat bands, they are described as a mixture of Funk, African, R&B, Soul, Reggae, Roots and Rockabilly. At the International Surfing Museum Linda Miller has taken the surf genre to a new level. She has booked an incredible list of surfing bands known throughout the musical community. Attend one of the Surfing Sunday Concerts and you'll be amazed that the players are top notch. At Central Park, the Huntington Beach Band, a community volunteer band is featured along with an incredible line up that includes the likes of Tom Kubis. A composer and musician known throughout the world, Tom Kubis is a local talent in great demand for his complex and creative compositions.
