Oatmeal Soap On a Rope - Ever wonder what to do with those little pieces of soap, those hotel bars of soap your kids love to bring home? Well, this is the craft for you! You can add oatmeal to create an old fashioned oatmeal soap or if you use cornmeal (in the same amount as the oatmeal) you'll have a pumice soap- great for those tough skin areas!! This would make a terrific gift !
Potato Prints - This is a great way for you to use a simple potato to make a stamp for almost any holiday. All you need is a pencil to draw an outline of the shape you would like to print on the cut surface of the potato. Simple shapes work best and are great fun and inexpensive too!!
Box Photo Album - This week's Craft of the Week features an adorable Box Photo Album for mom on Mother's Day. This terrific craft for kids and gift for mom was created by Kathy Ross popular crafter and author of many wonderful kids' craft books. It has step-by-step instructions with pictures.
TP Bird Feeder - This week's Craft of the Week features a simple and charming bird feeder that anyone can make. As the weather turns cooler we all like to help our feathery friends stay well fed and healthy. A bird feeder along with a bird bath is a very good way to help our visiting friends. This is also a good way to recycle spent toilet paper rolls!
Silly Putty - This week's Craft of the Week came from Tanya. This fun and versatile playdough has been around for decades and now you too can make it right in your own home. Store the Silly Putty in an air tight container, plastic bag, or plastic Easter egg (just like the original putty). The mixture will look like putty after it is kneaded, in fact, the more you knead the better the consistency will be.
Photo Frame - This week's Craft of the Week features a great gift for Mom or Dad for any holiday. These Photo Frames will keep the kids close to Dad even when he is at work. This is a unique and fun gift for the kids to make for Mom or Dad.
Meet the Author - Carolyn Holm author of "Everyday Art for Kids hosted by Sue Spataro interview and FREE craft idea Carolyn Homes the author of Everyday Art For Kids has always been surrounded by art. Her mother created an atmosphere that encouraged and nurtured Carolyn and her siblings to be creative and imaginative. In addition to making art from ordinary objects, like a used box, Carolyn also was busy writing stories and poems as well. She found that even the most self-confident parent was a bit unsure of themselves when it came to art. This propelled Carolyn to create a tremendous resource for both parents and children so that they could do any project successfully, that they desired. This provided the foundation for her book Everyday Art For kids.
This is a cool book - check it out at your local library....
