Finished Size: 18ö tall

Skill Level: beginner
Time: 1 hour

Display this easy—to—craft card keeper on a gift table or its own pedestal stand. Nothing says romance better than roses!

MATERIALS
Decorative round wire birdcage with hinged lid, 8 3/4ö diameter, 16ö tall.
Coral/cream silk rose candle ring, 4ö diameter with nine 2ö-3ö diameter blooms, two.
Ribbons:
coral/white ombre wire-edged, 1 1/2ö wide, 2 yards;
sheer coral, 1 1/2ö wide, 2 yards;
satin-edged sheer coral, 3/8ö wide, 2 yards.
Coral chickadees, 2 3/4ö long, two.
Fine-gauge craft wire.
Supplies: Scissors, ruler, glue gun, wire cutters, wooden skewer.

INSTRUCTIONS

Click on thumbnail for larger image.
Center one candle ring over top of birdcage. Wire ring to cage with short lengths of craft wire.

Use wire cutters to clip flowers, with leaves, from remaining candle ring. Glue three roses together to form a cluster; let glue set. Wire rose cluster to bottom left front side of cage. Glue remaining roses to candle ring at top of cage. Make sure roses adhere to candle ring or part of cage.

From wire-edged ribbon, make a 6 1/2ö wide eight-loop bow with 10ö tails. Wrap center of bow with wire to secure; knot ribbon ends. Wire bow to right side of candle ring between two flowers. Arrange loops as desired.

Cut remaining ribbon into 2/3 yard lengths. Tie each length into a shoestring bow with tails. Apply glue to back of each bow knot. Using wooden skewer, push one sheer and one satin-edged bow into rose cluster at side of cage. Glue one chickadee to top of rose cluster.

To finish birdcage, push remaining satin-edged bows into roses at right front edge of cage, just below wire-edged bow. Push sheer bows into roses above wire-edged bow. Glue remaining chickadee among roses near bows.

Add Your Own Touch . . .

Purchase extra floral candle rings and pillar candles to use on head table or reception tables.
Wire candle-ring flowers to a purchased ivy garland; swag gift table with garland. Add bows and chickadees if desired.
Paint birdhouse white, gold, or silver; use white florals, leaves, and birds for a very traditional look.

I cant believe its going on 7 weeks already. But hes being really strong and hes fighting really hard. Hes made it this far so that to me only means good things to come. I'll tell you how to paste projects here : ). Its real easy. When you find a project you want just left click on your mouse and hold it down and scroll down till the end of what your wanting. Then let up on the mouse. You'll see the area you want to copy turn blue. Then just right click your mouse and click on copy. Then just come back to your post and right click again and then click paste. There ya have it. Now to put pics here you just find the picture you want. Right click and scroll down to properties. Click on properties and a new window pops up. There you will see a url address. Highlite the address and right click and copy it. Then bring it back to your post and paste it here. At the beginning of the address you need to type (img) except use the square brackets [ ]. Then at the end of the address type this (/img) except use the square brackets again [ ]. Then when you click on post when your takin to your post you'll see your picture there. Hope this helps you. If not email me and I'll talk you through it again. Have a terrific evening : ). Sunee

Hey, this one is really pretty... I have a heart shaped hunter green bird cage hanging on a stand with ivy on the stand. I was thinking of decorating it kinda like this with flowers and putting a candle in it (just for display, not to burn). Now this gives me a good pic to go by.

It must be lake effect fog in my brain, Sunee!!! I know how to highlight the text and copy it. The problem comes when I need to take it somewhere else. Do you have to have 2 screens open at once? I'm pathetic. I'm a brainiac in all other aspects of life. lol How do I do this???????

Laf...... How far are you from Oak Forest???????

Crafty1, once you highlight your text and copy it then you can close that window and open the one you want to paste it in. I usually keep both windows open though incase I need to recopy it for some reason. After you paste it then just close the other window. Let me know if that helps.
