This is my first post although I have recently become a big user of the freebie forum. I am a crafter, however, and one of the best ideas I ever heard for children was a recipe given by Carol Duval for homemade sticker glue. It is as follows:
Combine two parts white craft glue with one part vinegar and mix thoroughly. Use a paint brush to apply to surfaces and allow to dry for 6-10 seconds. Activate the glue by applying water to it. My daughter teaches kindergarden. She created a page of several pictures and images and made copies of it, adding the individual children's name to each sheet. For example, one image was of a heart and the child's name was written in the heart. Another image was a first place ribbon, again with the child's name added to the picture. The children were then given "their" sheet to color. After they were done, the glue was "painted" onto the back and allowed to dry. Then the kids could cut out their own personalized stickers. Hope people have a use for this. I think it makes a great rainy day activity!

Kelsey...
Thank-you Thank-you for this info.!! This will come in sooo handy, I am always looking for fun projects to make with my little niece when she is over, and of course stickers are always a big hit, and to think she can actually design her very own...and...with so many awesome web sites that offer free clipart/graphics and printables (like the gift bags, boxes, & labels) the possibilites are really endless. Oh what fun!!! ![]() ~KraftyOne |

Another suggestion for designs is to use rubber stamps for your designs. Stamp out a bunch of designs on a piece of paper, paint the glue and let it dry. They can then be colored and cut out.
If you have access to a color copier, stamp them out in color and then make copies! [Edited by Kelsey1224 on 04-17-2001 at 07:59 PM]

I'm bumping this again for those who are new to this site and who didn't get this information when I originally posted it.
