I did my own invites using premade invites from Michaels with my greeting card software and an inkjet printer. Using Michaels 40% off (over and over and over again...LOL) I got 100 invites PLUS 50 thank you's for about 25 dollars! If you have LOTS of time (I didn't with a full time job and FOUR kids!) you could also embellish them with ribbons, stamps or whatever! Everybody RAVED about them! (Oh yea, I also bought blank postcards and did RSVP cards on my computer in the same font as the invites so it all matched
)

I made my own wedding invite using my computer. I found a great program (create a card gold) and did a lot of practicing. I got great thick paper at a printing company, it was about $10 for a ream of thick, cream, textured paper. I wanted to do those long, thin invites and I printed them myself and cut using a paper cutter. I also made my replies, maps, thanks you's, and everything else using the same paper and motif. I used the postcard size for replies, map, and reception info. I did buy the nice envelops though the invitation magazines. I looked for the most reasonable price and shipping and printed my return address on the back flap of each (very easy!). The invites I wanted would have been over 400 dollars but I did my own for about 100 dollars including ink! This was for 250 - 300 invitations. I used lavendar ink (my wedding color) and a butterfly graphic on each invite. I also tied each invitation and inserts up with a lavendar ribbon. No one could believe that I had made them on my computer!!! I do have to admit that I was pretty surprised myself on how professional they looked.

Congratulations!
Making your own invitations is not as difficult as some may think. Have done for weddings, showers and most rescently my own 30th birthday. Stationery and Craft stores now carry all types and sizes of papers. From pressed to velom. You can print on both. Can hole punch each to attach together with ribbons. No longer do you have to pay a FORTUNE to get truely fabulous invitations. What did you have in mind, maybe we can all help.

I used the ed/it.com software for my wedding invitations. It works great!! I purchased the blank invitations, response cards, etc. from Staples. They were white with a teal castle on them. I also used the same software for my church programs. Total cost for software, invites, and programs was under $100.
