Here is one of my favorite craft ideas. I hope the instructions are clear. I have never put them in writing before.
Book Angels
Old hymnals work great because of the music, but any book will work. Note: avoid books with to many pictures.
Folding the wings:
Open the book begin at the front, fold the first 5 sheet from bottom corner in to the binding so that the bottom edge of the page runs flush with the binding. Open to back cover also take the last five pages and fold corner so that bottom of page runs along back binding.
Continue folding pages one at a time in this manner. Ensuring you fold the same number of pages on both the front and the back. You will want to fold about a 1/3 of the page to make the wings.
Folding the Dress:
To fold the dress take the upper corner and fold down so that the top edge of the page runs along the binding. The front 1/2 of the book fold the pages towards the front cover on the second 1/2 of the book fold toward the back cover.
Stand book upright spreading covers straight .
Head:
Get a styrofoam ball (size according to size of book). Insert popcicle stick into ball.
Cover ball with panty-hose and secure at base with tape or glue. Make face according to your preference. (ex. I have seen painted faces, no faces, stitched face. Etc.) Glue florist moss for hair. Use Gold Pipe Cleaners to make for halo. When head and face completed place doily over top of book to make "lace collar" place popcicle stick through doily between binding spine and the pages. Tie a ribbon bow around neck for accent and color (this can also help hid your tape where you fastened hose to stick)
Options:
Gold leaving page edges (do this before folding)
Very lightly spray with glitter
