DOLL ASSEMBLY AND PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS:

Doll:
1. Insert the body dowel firmly in the base. Insert the arm dowel in the top hold of the large body dowel.
2. Paint the head and both hands the desired color.
3. Glue flat side of the hands (wrist) to the arm dowels.
4. Glue the head to the top of the body dowel with lo-temp glue or wood glue. Let glue set before dressing doll.
Clothing:
1. Cut a 15" x 36" piece of fabric, felt or natural cotton batting for the dress. Cut armhole slits 2" long, 5" away from each side of the dress.
2. Use a running stitch and heavy duty thread to gather the top edge of the dress from edge to edge, going right over each of the armhole slits. Set dress aside. For Santa, Cut a 1-1/4" x 36" strip of natural cotton batting. Glue the strip of batting around the bottom of the dress. Fore the doll, cut a 12" x 23" piece of printed fabric for an apron. Gather the top of one 23" edge to about 4". Set aside to glue at the doll's neck after dress is assembled on doll.
3. Cut two 8" x 7" sleeves of material to match the dress. Overlap 8" edges to make a tube, then glue seam closed.
4. Assemble sleeves on doll. Apply lo-temp glue to the arm and body dowels, then press ends of sleeves into glue. Assemble the dress on the doll, inserting the arms through armhole slits. Overlap, then glue or stitch the back of dress shut. Glue girl's apron at neck. Tie ribbon around bottom of girl doll's sleeves and into a bow. Glue a 1" strip of batting around the edge of Santa's sleeves.
Optional for Girl:
Cut a slit in a 4" doily then glue it around the girl's neck as a collar.
5. Draw, paint a face, or use Lara's Crafts Rub-On Doll Faces #010394 to create a face. If desired, rub the cheeks with Pink powdered blush. Glue One & Only™ Blonde Wavy Wool Doll Hair on the girl doll's head. For Santa, glue a One & Only™ White Mini Curl Doll Hair beard on face.
6. Santa's Hat: Cut a 6" x 6" x 9" triangle of felt or fabric to match Santa's dress. Bring short edges of triangle to center, creating a cone. Overlap edges, then glue. Trim bottom edge of hat even, then glue hat on head. Glue tip of hat down, then glue a jingle bell at tip.
For Santa:
Cut a 24" piece of 20 gauge wire (Lara's Crafts #LK2050). Bend each end of wire into a 'U' shape. Tie assorted 1/2" fabric strips on wire. Paint three snowman and two trees as shown in photo. Glue the painted wood parts and assorted buttons onto fabric covered wire. Attach wire to wrists. Glue buttons around the bottom of the dress.
For Girl Doll:
Unwrap a 3" - 4" grapevine wreath. Select two sturdy vines. Stretch vines across front of doll. Glue ends of vines to back of hands. Tie fabric strips on vine. Paint two flowerpots, three tulips, a sunflower (sun) and a birdhouse desired colors. Use grapevine for stems of tulips. Glue a small piece of foam in flowerpot, then the tulips in pot. Glue pot and painted wood pieces to vine. Glue silk flowers and leaves in pot and on vine. Glue assorted buttons on vine.
Creative Tip: Use themed fabric to create a doll for every season...a witch, leprechaun, snowman, bunny and MORE!

Make a 17" character doll for every season...it's easy & FUN!
