Materials:
Two clear shower curtains
Scissors
Small grommets
Optional: spray enamel to paint grommets
Grommet attachment kit (walmart and other craft stores carry this)
Photographs, postcards or greeting cards
Cut one shower curtain into square and rectangular pieces, which will serve as plastic pockets. Cut the pieces to approximately 6" by 8" each if using uniformly sized postcards. If using photographs or other art, cut the pockets about 1" larger on all sides than the pictures. Cut as many pockets as you need to cover the shower curtain in an interesting pattern.
If you want colorful grommets, spray-paint them and let dry.
Place the uncut shower curtain on a flat surface to eliminate wrinkles and make adding grommets easy. A floor or a large work table is ideal. Place the clear pockets in a decorative pattern on the surface. Leave a 3" to 4" border on all four sides of the shower curtain to help keep moisture out.
Use the grommet kit to attach plastic pockets to the shower curtain.
Attach small grommets every 1/2" around the sides and bottom of each pocket, leaving the top open so you can insert the postcards or photos. Use a hard surface when hammering in the grommets: a cement floor or driveway works well.
After attaching the pockets, hang the curtain, and slip postcards or photos into the pockets.
On this project I did the way the directions said for my first try. After I figured it out I made a second shower curtain BUT instead of using all clear curtains I bought a regular fabric shower curtain and a clear shower curtain. That way I had some decoration to the curtain and then added photos of my kids and some photos that go with the theme of the bathroom. You can either cut into squares like the directions suggest or you can simply sew the curtains together as one piece making squares all over, if your using two clear shower curtains to fill in completely so you cant see through it (for us shy folks) LOL.
