Do you have a favorite gift bag that someone gave you along with a gift that was really special to you? Maybe like hubby got you that ring you always wanted or popped the question and gave you a ring and it came in a gift bag? This is a way you can display it and have your keepsake as a decoration in your home.

Materials:
Gift bag
Spray adhesive
Cardboard
Foam board
Ribbon or cord
Clockworks and faces
Adhesive-backed VelcroŽ
Scissors

Complete clocks come in a variety of styles and sizes. Some have Roman numerals, others have numbers. The clockworks and faces may be purchased separately so you can customize your own. All craft stores carry the parts you need to make your clock for this project.

Reinforce the sides of the bag with foam board. Cut pieces sized to fit the sides of the bag from the inside. Before attaching the foam board to the bag, decide where you want the clock positioned on the side of the bag. Measure the location on the foam board, and cut a small hole with scissors so that the clock will fit through the foam board. Some foam board comes with self-adhesive backing. Peel it away, and stick the foam board to each side on the inside of the bag. Or use spray adhesive and regular foam board. Several layers of cardboard could also be substituted for foam board.

Insert the clockworks from the inside of the bag, through the foam board.

Or if you're using a complete self-contained clock, insert it from the outside.

If desired, put something heavy inside the bag to keep it from tipping over.

Place a piece of adhesive-backed Velcro at the top of the bag for a closure. Or punch holes and tie a ribbon or cord at the top to hold the bag together. Remember--you'll need to have access to the inside of the bag to change the clock's batteries.
