Yarn Xmas tree centerpieces

from Berocco - see more pics at their website

MATERIALS & ASSEMBLY

How to wrap cones:

You can use cardboard cones, StyrofoamŪ cones or even ice cream cones to make these easy-to-assemble yarn trees for your Winter Wonderland Centerpiece. Fasten yarn to Styrofoam cone with silk pins. For all other cones you can use double sided transparent tape.

If using cardboard cones, draw end of yarn through the top opening to the inside of cone using a crochet hook. Fasten the yarn inside the cone with tape. Then begin by wrapping a piece of double sided tape around the top point of the cone and wind the yarn or yarns around and around, applying more tape when needed until the entire cone is covered. Fasten the end of the yarn to inside the base of the cone with a piece of tape. If you are using Styrofoam, you can simply fasten the yarn at the top and base with a straight pin.

Be creative with mixing yarn and colors, matte and shine yarns, furry and glitzy yarns. Pull tasseled yarns to outside so that they will look like branches. Arrange on some crumpled white tissue paper. If you like you can populate your forest with tiny wooden characters.

Thank you

I have a lot of Christmasy yarns, and now I know what to do with them.
