need to find patterns or something

I am trying to find some sort of pattern to possibly start making my daughter some pageant dresses. I am not wanting to make them for profit just for our family. I have googled it at many ways as I can think up an I havent found anything as of yet so any help would be of great use.

Re: need to find patterns or something

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the difference between girls formal dresses and pageant dresses?

I googled these on ebay
http://search.ebay.com/search/search...trypage=search
just use more trim to flounce them up.

also
http://www.earthling.com/10762/Inven...typagentformal

http://sewing.patternreview.com/cgi-...eviewnum=16026
these came up on google search- check out the wedding or party dress patterns in the sewing store

Re: need to find patterns or something

I found this on another website and it might give you some ideas, this is the website:

http://www.voy.com/34623/145.html

Girls Pageant Dress Patterns:
>
>Look at the current 2004-2005 Simplicity and Mcalls
>catalogues at your local fabric store or walmart. They
>have some GREAT unique patterns that are not listed as
>"pageant" BUT all you have to do is add a
>crinoline/netting underskirt or layers and make the
>skirt fuller w/ more gathers at the waist. Look at
>their flower girl dresses and renaissance patterns for
>the little ones, they also have a couple of designer
>patterns that are listed as "fairy" and "princess"
>dresses. Just think about the basic underdress, look
>at the darn pageant dresses that are $400+ and take
>away all the glitzy sequins and lace and beads, and
>you will see very simple dress pattern basics that you
>CAN find in any pattern book. Once you pick your
>"basic" design, just take a trip to your local big
>fabric store/outlet that has a HUGE bridal fabric
>selection and notions and load up on pre-beaded
>appliques, sequins etc.... and then attach these to
>your basic dress that you have souped up with the
>extra crinolines and fuller skirt. There is a great
>sequin tool for hot fix rhinestone that you can use,
>it is like a hot curling iron, but it picks up hot fix
>rhinestone and crystals and "sticks" them to the
>fabric, fully dry-cleanable and washable too. This
>tool costs about $20 and is worth it, because you can
>then custom make your own rhinestone dresses. You can
>come out with a winning dress this way, especially if
>you stick to the basic colors like ivory or white
>where you can find a lot of appliques to attach.
>Beading is VERY easy, anyone can do it, it is not
>complicated, just time consuming. If you want to save
>$400-$700 and still have a custom made dress, then
>invest a few weeks of staying up late to bead your
>daughters own dress. I am sure she will treasure it
>and value it so much more than one you bought for her.
>My daughter does!
>
>And if you think judges are impressed with expensive
>dresses that cost an arm and a leg- look at the
>pageant photos---they all look the same! How
>impressive is it to have a lot of money to buy a dress
>that is on 20 other little girls in various colors and
>similar designs? So make your own dress, and use
>designs that your little princess loves and her
>uniqueness will stand out. If she loves flowers, put
>beaded, sequin and rhinestone flowers. The
>possibilities are as endless as your imagination. And
>it wont cost you a month's rent to do it.

and this site has some really nice dresses you can look at to get ideas on how to jazz these up .... Hope this helps =)
