Have you thought about using a brooch? You could gather the cloth on both ends and pass the pin of the brooch through both outer edges.

Re: anyone know how to make scarf clasps?

lots of inexpensive ones on ebay
http://search.ebay.com/search/search...le=Scarf+Clasp

or maybe:
buy a scarf ring and glue something interesting to the front of it (silk flowers, beads, old pendent, pompom, buttons, etc)

http://www.bjcraftsupplies.com/jewel...ngs/misc02.asp

buy a scarf clasp finding and glue a stone on the front
http://www.ornabead.com/FD2005/Backbars.pdf

http://www.costumejewelrysupplies.com/findings11.htm
" Description: Brass Scarf/Shoe/Garment Clip~ Glue/Solder a Setting and choose your stone for a Glitzy look! ..."

http://www.maryhornig.com/mh/jewelry_findings.shtml
scarf clip w/glue pad white $1.50 each Snaps against scarf. No pin holes!

Bead a small figure 8 on wire of seed beads and add larger focal point beads to the middle.

double or triple a thin covered elastic hair (pony) band to hold your scarf and sew or tie on something pretty to the front.

ohh oops I really liked this one

buy a scarf clasp finding and glue a stone on the front
http://www.ornabead.com/FD2005/Backbars.pdf

but the order blank shows a $25 min order and a $15 catalog fee so I am checking out ebay and have already bid on some. I am going to check out the scarf ring link again too cause I would like some I could decorate to go with different scarves etc. thanks again for your help
