You will need:
1/2 yard denim
Small piece of fabric for pockets
Sewing machine & threads
What to do:
*I use 1/4" seam allowances*
Cut the denim approx. 18" wide x 31" long.
You can make it bigger or smaller as desired.
Turn each short end 1/2" twice & sew. Hem made.
Pocket size is up to you or use jean pockets.
Use the directions below to make a small pocket
to go on the inside of the bag.
Make & sew this pocket to the wrong side of the material first if desired.
I cut a 8" x 16" piece of fabric.
Fold in half with right sides together & sew
3 sides using a 1/4" seam allowance,
leaving an opening for turning.
Turn & poke out corners.
There is no need to sew up the opening
as it will be sewn when attaching the pocket.
Center the pocket approx. 3" from the top hem. Pin in place & sew.
The bag handles can be short or long, it's up to you.
Cut 2 pieces of denim or fabric approx. 3" wide.
Fold each long side to the center & then fold in half, pin.
Sew each long side.
I like to place the strap ends so
they line up with the pocket corners.
Pin to the wrong side & sew in place.
I usually sew a square & backstitch each side at least once.
Almost done! :-)
Fold the bag in half with the
right sides together & sew each side
making sure to backstitch at each end.
Miter each corner (refer to diagram).
Turn right side out & Fill 'er up!!!!
