Poutybaby

instructions are mostly made up of bits & pieces of those
I have found on the net. This was easiest for me!

I started with a thin baby sleeper....about size 12 months or can be a bit larger.
I first stuffed the feet with polyfill...stuff TIGHTLY!!!
I poked pieces of pvc pipe in the legs that had been wrapped with quilt batting.
Add polyfill if it needed it to fill out the legs.
Stuff the body of the sleeper with polyfill OR use
a small rectangular pillow & stuff around it!
*NOTE* Dont stuff the arm area yet.
I used a coathanger, cut the hook off,
wrapped it with quilt batting & poked it thru the arms of the sleeper.
(Now the arms can be positioned where you want them.)
(I am thinking of placing one arm up for the head
to rest on & the other covering the hiney....like it has had a swat! LOL!!!)
Finish stuffing the body fairly firmly.
Now for the head! This can be made several ways.
I stuffed a leg of a pantyhose with polyfill till it was the size that looked right.
Insert a 6" long piece of pvc pipe as a neck.
Run a gather stitch around the neck of the sleeper.
Poke the neck into the sleeper neck & pull threads tight & tie off.

Use a dolls head! It will have to be a large one.
Run a gathering stitch around the neck of the sleeper,
place the head into the neck & pull the threads tight & tie off.

Use a styrofoam head if you can find a small one.
Use the directions above to attach it.
For hands I stuffed baby socks & glued them inside the sleeper at the wrists.
I glued curly blond hair to the inside of a straw hat,
pulled it into a pony tail & tied it with a ribbon.
Dress your baby, place the hat on the head & you're done.
