Cake Decorating Ideas??? - Big Big Forums

I have decided that with 4 kids I really really want to learn to decorate party cakes for their birthdays and other holidays..........if you know of any helpful sites I would most appreciate it

I love this site. I made a sponge bob cake for my son last year, from an idea off that site. And in December I made my daughter a wedding type cake for her birthday from the ones listed on the site. From some of the posts I've read, the webmistress is really helpful in explaining stuff, and even has instructional pages.

a favorite website of mine is www.familyfun.com they have a lot of really cool cakes on there....plus other arts and crafts for kids and families!

I use family fun alot and i will also just go to a search engine, type in what ever you are wanting..... "underwater cake, school bus cake, bunny rabbit cake, etc. and see what comes up. I have also been thinking about doing this. I made my sisters cake the other week and it was real cute. when i get the pisc back i will post them. you can look at some of these cakes and get your own ideas and just use your imagineation. would love to start a small business that waould be so cool. but it could also be fattening!!!

my mother use to make cakes for a long time. she made alot of wedding cakes too. i just make kids cakes for those that i know. most people that had my mom make cakes for them were really nice and always called ahead of time so she could plan things. i just remember one time that someone called as we were getting ready to go to PA and they wanted to get a wedding cake for 300 people the next day. my mother said there was no way and they couldn't understand why. the last cakes she made were for me and my sister's weddings.
