Wedding Message Vase

http://www.suewarden.com/class/proje...02/june-02.htm

great idea but uses rub ons - hmm, I think this would be a greater idea if the result was more permanent. Anyone want to try this with etching creme over the rub on? then maybe soak to remove the rub on?? it would give the reverse image...

also, just FYI

Re: Wedding Message Vase

Aha! here is a more permanent option - stamp a verse onto clay

Re: Wedding Message Vase

I am thinking you could print the verses, tape them to the inside of the vase and use a paint pen to "draw" over the letters on the outside? This looks like a very nice gift idea, I am thinking of looking up verses of encouragement and using it as a graduation vase. I was thinking I would like to give my niece a bouquet of flowers but they die, and yes you can put one in a book and keep it but I wanted something else, that she would look at later and say this is from when I graduated, this is perfect, thanks for sharing =)

I used to do glass etching, and the stuff that you usually find at Wal-Mart, etc, will rub off rather easily. If you want it to be more permanent, then you need to find the "real" glass etching chemical. It has more hazards involved and it smells so terribly, but it works. My friend and I bought some from a craft store or something, and we could rub the etching off of the glass. So, we found the real stuff. Good luck with your project!
