Ellen Allan's 10 Dandy Handy Laundry Tips
Hi Crafters,
Here are a few tips that I hope will put a stop to many a restless night or at least save a favorite shirt. Some of these tips I use all of the time, and others have been mentioned by fellow costumers along my fabric-covered lane. I wish you God's speed with the washing machine!

Oil and Grease stains on your clothes (Salad oil included!):
Sprinkle with perfume free baby powder, let set a few minutes and whisk off. May be necessary to do a few times. This even removes those spots that the dry cleaner left!
Red wine stain:
Remove with white wine and then soda water.
Blood stain:
Your own spit. Gross, huh? Works like a charm!
Water stains on shoes:
Rub with vinegar, a lot of vinegar!
Make up stains & iron scorch stains:
Non everything, cheap, baby wipes. This is becoming old hat now, but not too many people know about the iron scorch trick!
Ink stains:
Hair spray. Be sure to put towels underneath to catch the run off ink. Magic!
Ring around the collar:
Wash with baby shampoo cause it's the same gunk that's in your hair.
Bad sweat stains:
Apparently soaking with vodka will take it out but I'm too cheap to try this, so I can not personally endorse this one.
Leather shoes too tight:
Rub the insides with rubbing alcohol and wear. Sounds like fun?
Love polar fleece, but hate the pill-balls:
Brush with a suede brush and it will look like new.
