Need Craft Ideas...

Our church is wanting to set up a booth at one of the bazaars that they have here in town. Does anyone have any cute cheap ideas? I have found a few good ideas but I want something that will really sell. Also any idea for a welcome basket for the church. Each time a visitor comes we give out a welcome basket and it seems like we are giving out the same old stuff each time. I would like to make them a little different.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Instead of a goody bags, I buy inexpensive water bottles-the kind with the built-in straws-to fill up with treats for my parties. This will work for children's parties. I think everyon will love it. Plus, it starting to warm up. Summer is just around the corner.

One local church on Mondays, delivers a dozen fresh baked cookies to the home of the visitors along with a card from the church.

Re: Need Craft Ideas...

I saw a really cute craft on DIY this morning about making baskets out of those super cheap peat pots

here i found the link
http://www.diynet.com/diy/pa_invitat...274128,00.html

the ones on the show were cuter than the one on the website, but you get the idea!

Re: Need Craft Ideas...

OK!!! here is 2 more suggestion for a welcome gift basket

1. Fill a basket with stamps, phone book and an address book complete with personalized information of everyone in the neighborhood/church!

Ok! I don't know what type of reglious your are, so please don't hate me on the second idea. PLEASE.

2. Christian Survival Kit or welcome basket
Candle-to remind you to share his light with others
Rubber band- to remind us to be flexible to God's will for us
Life saver- to remind you of the many times others have needed your help and you theirs
Eraser- Gold forgives our sins, we must do the same for ourselves and others.
cotton Ball- to keep our hearts soft to God and others
Snickers Candy Bar- to remind you to laugh at yourself-laughter is good medicine
Hug (The Hershey kiss kind) because we all need one from time to time
Cross - To remind you of the sacrifice He made because He Loves You.

Just let me know if you're looking for any other gift basket ideas. I may can help on the suggestion.
E-mail me Doreas_13@yahoo.com
Good luck on your welcome basket.

Re: Need Craft Ideas...

what about a kindergardener's gift basket. It doesn't have to be a gift basket. You can use colorful bags. fill a children's bags with pencil topppers, decorated pencils, colored pencils, rules, plastic stencils which let them draw stars, circles, etc., children's scissors.

what about a nice coffee cup with assorted cocoa mixes, peppermint sticks, hershey kisses, mini marshmallows all inside a nice big coffee cup.

What about a Candy Gram Packaging ideas?

You can do them alot of different ways.
1.) Stuff the mentioned candy bar in an empty 2 liter pop bottle, and make a new lable for it with the "gram" on it. (Label covers the slit you make to put the stuff inside) Add some ribbon at the top on the lid.
2.) Use empty clean new paint can (from home improvement centers). And make a label with "Gram" on it and put the contents inside sticking out with tissue also sticking out... or put all the contents inside and close the lid on them... with another graphic on the lid.
3.) Glue them all on a piece of thin foamcore board, or poster board, with the candy glue gunned down where the words would be. It is sort of giant"Gram"
4.) Put everything in any kind of container, that has a card or tag attached with the "gram" on it...This could be a basket, a pail, an empty large jar... anything. Decorate the container appropriately for the occassion. Examples would be for a little boy--a childs toy truck with the candies in the back part... You could even bundle them all uo in tulle and set them in a back of the dump truck, or cover the back of the dump truck with syran wrap and add a bow, and the gram card. OR a nice basket with the candies, and perhaps even a little potted flower tucked in the middle of the candies for mother.. Wrap the whole basket in netting and add a big colorful bow and the card with the gram.Or a baby gram could be alittle doll bassinet...etc.. you get the idea.

Ok maybe I am way off but what is a bazaar? Can you give me some ideas on what goes on there.
Thanks
D
