Question decoupage help

I am not a "crafty" person... that said... Our new house has these 3 large frames that were built on the entryway wall (long story, but it was a never finished project) anyhow, I want to get a bunch of vintage ads and decoupage them into the frames, right on to the walls.

My question is, if I do that, how hard will it be for them to be removed should I ever want to take them down? I have never used decoupage before, so I am not sure of how it works....

I use crayons and elmers glue, thats about as creative as I get LOL

TIA!

Decoupage is basically like gluing the ads you want to use to the frame so you will never be able to remove them once you decoupage them.

Its very easy to decoupage something.
All you need to do is put Elmer's white glue on the surface (frame) with a foam brush. Apply even strokes.
Then put the ads or paper or whatever you want to decoupage onto the frame, wood, etc.
Then you apply glue to the front of the ads and the front of the entire project. I use about 3 coats.
Let dry.
Then apply a polyurathane with the foam brush to seal it in.
Allow to dry.

if it was me, I would use liquid starch...that way when you got tired of it, you could just peel it off

HI !!! I have done a lot of decoupage and if you go that route you would probably have to use a stripper, just like any other paint project to get it off of the wall. A Messy job for sure !!! The liquid starch idea definetly sounds better to me, try going to HGTV, here is a link and see if that helps you ok. I haven't tried the liquid starch for this purpose but I have seen them use it to put fabrics on walls on HGTV. Liquid starch is available at your local grocery store, same section as spray starch, sometimes it will be up a shelf or two.

Hope this gets your project off to a great start !!!
