Crochet pattern hunt

I am looking for a crochet pattern that my grandmother used to make all of the grandchildren an afghan for high school graduation. Now that she can no longer crochet, we would like to continue the tradition for the great-grand children that are coming along.
The pattern was a large granny square with a rose in the middle. The squares were atleast 8".
I have done alot of searches and can only find small ones.
Does anyone have anything like this?
Thanks!

Re: Crochet pattern hunt

Thanks-but no.
I would say it is made with an I hook. The roses are also maybe a little more fancy.

Re: Crochet pattern hunt

Are the roses raised from the square? I have seen some like that very recently.

I had an old library book with learning to crochet patterns in it.

I will look and see what I can find. Maybe a trip to the library would be benificial to you.
