Smile I Need Baby Gift Ideas!

Okay, so this isn't pertaining to arts & crafts, but I didn't see a better place to put this on the forum. I'm wanting to purchase a gift for a newborn girl and would like to purchase something out of the ordinary, not baby clothes, etc. The couple who had the baby tried for YEARS before they were able to conceive and have her. Any ideas for a memorable, unique gift for the baby? Thanks, I appreciate any thoughts!

This isn't a "special" present but a boppy is great if they are breastfeeding even if not the baby can rest on their tummy or it helps them sit up when they get a bit bigger.

A gift certificate for a portrait studio they will probalby be taking a ton of pics.

For the Grammas-to-be, or the Mom-to-be,
I have given a special baby scrapbook
with baby colored papers,
frames, cutouts,
and disposable cameras.

Too cute!

I make hooded toddler towels. They fit children from age 9 months to age 5+ my one neice used hers until age 9,so they fill the gap from the hooded baby towels that most newborns get and can be used for a long time. They can be used for bath or beach. My brother got mad at me for only giving one to his daughter, he said she wanted ONLY it EVERY TIME she took a bath or went swimming and he was not happy about doing laundry so often of course, I gave him a few spares. My nephews ran around in them pretending to be superman, et al..The girls I work with love them for baby shower and birthday gifts, Bbecause they are so different they are sure to be one of a kind. I I sell them for $22 eabh.

Pass around a journal during a baby shower and ask each guest to write down his or her parenting advice. Give it to the mommy-to-be after everyone has contributed, or present it as a gift in the hospital right after the baby is born.
================================================== ===================
Make a diaper cake to use as a centerpiece. Roll up about 50 diapers and tie with ribbon. Arrange in three layers to resemble a layered wedding cake. Fill a baby bottle with candy as a cake topper. Tie with additional ribbon and attach small toys and accessories as desired.
My brother put baby bottles on it and filled with those metallic streamers it was very nice
================================================== ================
put together a gift basket for a new mother.
1--Disposable cameras, a pretty frame,
2- Give her a little help by filling a new laundry basket with baby detergent and fabric softener. Top it off with a cute and snugly outfit for baby.
3--a care package for mom to bring home with her from the hospital. Also throw in some books or magazines for mom to read. Include arelaxation tape, slippers, bath oils, and candles.
================================================== ===============

Turn an infant bathtub into a gift basket. Fill the tub with baby toiletries such as baby shampoo, baby powder, a hooded towel and matching washcloth, bath toys, receiving blankets and a pair of baby pajamas

You could give her a coupon book. Coupons could include, x hours free baby sitting. x hours house cleaning. the possibilities are limitless.

How about an offer to babysit and a gift certificate for a dinner at Mom and Dad's favorite place?
