What to do with CD roms?
I have 2 or 3 dozen AOL and other ISP cdroms. Anyone have any ideas what to make with them?

I saved mine up and made awesome Christmas trees out of them. Cut out a large plywood tree, then liquid nailed them side by side to cover the wood. Next I drilled through the centers (so the holes would go through the wood; not just the CD's) and I put a string of the large bulb Christmas lights on it; threading them through the back so you couldn't see the wires. Makes an awesome decoration!

I saw a house where they had the roof bordered in them with the lights in the middle. Really impressive decoration. They also make great decorations for outdoor trees. You can melt a hole in an edge and attach a hanger. I've also seen them made into clocks using those cheap kits you can buy at craft stores.

Our cub scout den used them to make mobiles. we just decorated them by gluing beads adn buttons to them and then hanging them by fishing line to coat hangers. they looked really nice and sparkled when you put them near a sunny window.

Thanks for the ideas everyone!
I think I'm going to tackle the clock and Christmas wreath first. They seem a bit simpler. The crocheted crafts caught my eye, but I'd like to learn how to knit before I learn to crochet. Oh, and my cats would *kill* me if I scared the birds away. It's their favorite show.

great ideas for cds
These are all great ideas! I will try the lights idea somehow..
I have seen a german site where this woman did gorgeous etchings in the shiny side. Just scratch and it turns white. She had roses, scrolly things, words, whatever and then used them as coasters I think.
