Gardeners help?

My house is built in the middle of a mountain we dug out and tried to have it stairstepped up in the backyard but a lot of it fell in and now what is left to work with is a very steep ledge, we can terrace in a couple of places but only a little ways up. Whats left is extremely steep slope above that is the woods which is fine but the steep slope which is also clay is a problem, we can't grow anything on it that might need weed eating, any suggestions!

Sedum has worked well for me as a ground cover.....I use it in my mountain home and in our beach area home......

Juniper is an evergreen that looks good year round....but takes awhile to grow or spread much.....

My mom lives in the mountains of NC and says that evergreen does well for her on her steep banks...

Here are some links to in-expensive mail-order flower/seed companies that offer ground-cover plants. Always save your packaging slips when you order from them..so you can get replaced anything that does not grow......

Hope this helps....
