Jolly Threesome terra cotta pots



Supplies
Surfaces

Brushes by Loew-Cornell - 1" Wash Series 7550; #1 & #10/0 Liners Series 7350; #1 & #12 Flat Shaders Series 7300; #3 & #8 Stencil Series 1136

Supplies - Brush basin, palette, paper towels, old toothbrush, 1" square of household sponge, tracing & transfer paper, pencil, Scotch Magic Tape, scissors, Zig 01 & 05 felt tip markers, LC DES double-ended stylus, white pom-pom, 4 jingle bells in assorted Christmas colors, 3 pieces of thin green ribbon (7", 8" & 17"), 1/2" wooden bead with hole in middle, E6000 glue, glue gun & glue sticks, rubbing alcohol

3", 3-1/2" & 1-1/4" Terra Cotta Pots

2 ea 2" Terra Cotta Pots

3" & 4" Terra Cotta Saucers

2" Votive Candle

3" Square of Black Felt



Instructions

PREPARATION
1. Clean candle with rubbing alcohol.

2. Basecoat pots and saucers as follows:
Cloud White – body of 3-1/2" pot, one 2" pot, 3" pot and 3" saucer; Pine Green – rim of 3-1/2" pot, one 2" pot, rim of white 2" pot and 4" saucer; Wrought Iron Black – 1-1/4" pot. When dry, transfer pattern.

PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS
Note: After completing faces, use markers to add details.

Candle Holder
1. For cheeks, dip #8 stencil brush in Holly Berry Red, rub bristles onto paper towel to remove most of the paint. Using a circular motion, apply cheeks.

2. Basecoat nose Cloud White with #1 flat brush. Add Holly Berry Red stripes with #1 liner. Add eyes and mouth with Wrought Iron Black and #1 liner.

3. Dip end of largest brush into Cloud White and form hearts around rim by making two dots side by side; put end of brush between dots and pull down to form a heart. Add Holly Berry Red stripes on hearts.

4. Sponge Cloud White on edge of green saucer.

Candle
Note: Mix all paint colors 1:1 with Candle Painting Medium.
1. Tape around top and bottom edges, leaving 3/4" open in middle. Sponge Cloud White in open area.

2. Cut 1/4" strip of sponge and pounce Holly Berry Red stripes onto white area. Use liner brush to add red lines.

3. Remove tape and pounce Cloud White around top edge.

Jingle Bell Snowman
1. Apply cheeks and nose the same as for candle holder.

2. After painting eyes with Wrought Iron Black, use #1 liner to add Cloud White comma strokes to left sides and bottom corners. Use stylus to dot eyes with white.

3. Dot mouth with Wrought Iron Black using handle end of brush; use liner to add white lines to top of each dot.

4. Add Holly Berry Red and then white stripes around rim with #1 liner. Use 05 marker to add black stripes.

Snowman Ornament
1. Paint cheeks as for other pieces. Use handle end of brush to dot eyes with black and nose with red.

2. Add white dots on green rim with white and stylus.

3. Using #10/0 liner and mix of Pine Green and white, pull lines to form pine branch on smallest pot. Use end of brush to dot berries with red; add smaller white dots.

FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Spatter all pieces and felt with white, using toothbrush.

2. Assemble pots as shown in photo and attach hat brim, using E6000 glue. (To make hat brim, cut circle 2-1/2" in diameter from felt square; cut 1-1/2" circle out of center.

3. Apply Decorating Paste to hat as shown. Fold 7" ribbon and hold up straight to apply Decorating Paste around all sides of ribbon ends. Sprinkle Glamour Dust while paste is still wet.

4. Attach ribbon and bells per pattern insert diagram.
