Instructions
Product Note
Americana acrylics are artist-quality, water-based, non-toxic paints. They are intermixable and suitable for almost any surface. They are creamy to facilitate smooth and easy brush strokes, and highly pigmented for richer color and one-stroke coverage. The wide range of colors makes color coordination easy - it reduces the waste of mixing to get the perfect hue.
Transferring Pattern
Lay tracing paper over pattern and draw the basic lines. Lay this tracing on the surface to be painted. Tape to secure. Place graphite paper between the tracing and the surface. Trace with a pencil to transfer the design. Do not trace details until after basecoating has dried.
Instructions
1. Use flat brush to paint fence, snowman (except hat) and sign Wedgewood Blue, tree Burgundy Wine and hat white. Let dry.
2. Apply Weathered Wood to tree, sign and snowman. Set aside to dry.
3. Use flat brush to paint birds and one stocking Burgundy Wine, one stocking Dark Pine, one stocking and birdhouse white and stars Glorious Gold.
4. When Weathered Wood is dry, paint tree Dark Pine, tree base Burnt Sienna, sign Burgundy Wine, snowman white, hat, birdhouse roof and craft stick Lamp Black. Let dry.
5. Transfer patterns.
6. Use flat brush to paint snowman vest Burgundy Wine.
7. Use liner brush to paint facial features and buttons with Lamp Black, carrot nose Cadmium Orange, trees on vest, holly on hat and wreath on birdhouse Dark Pine, stripes and star on vest and hat band Glorious Gold Add details to stockings and birds as desired.
8. Dip dampened compressed sponge square in Burgundy Wine and apply three rows checkers across bottom of fence. Use brush handle to dot white on Burgundy Wine squares.
9. Use liner to write "Happy Holidays" in white, outline checkers and vest with Lamp Black, paint birdhouse welcome sign with Wedgewood Blue and letters with white.
10. Glue stars, stockings, birds and birdhouse to fence.
11. Use flat brush to apply Gold Craft Twinkles on stars and Christmas Green Twinkles on vest trees and holly.
12. Use spatter brush or old toothbrush to spatter diluted white over all.
13. Apply two light coats of matte spray.
