Perfect Penguins

These birds are dressed up and ready for a party. They start with a soda bottle, some Fun Foam and fabric scraps. As decorations, they really steal the show.

TO MAKE:

1. Spray a 1- or 2-qt plastic bottle with white primer.

2. Draw penguin foot, nose and wing shapes, on this page to desired size. From sheets of craft foam, cut 2 each feet and wings, 1 nose.

3. Glue to bottle as in the photograph with a low-temp glue gun.

4. Make black-dot eyes with a paint marker and pink cheeks with acrylic paint.

5. Hat: Cut fringe in toe of baby sock; tie raffia below fringe. Slip over bottle neck.
