Arrow Beaded Bell

Materials Needed
38 - 8mm beads
68 oat beads
108 - 3mm beads
Beading string and needle
Directions
Cut a 1 - ¾ yard length of beading string and thread the needle.
Thread 12 - 3mm beads on the string, leaving about 4" of string on the end. Run the needle through all 12 beads again, and pull the string tight so that the beads from a circle and tie with a double knot.
On the needle, place one oat bead, one 3mm beads and continue around the bead circle to form 6 bead loops. Place 1 - 8mm bead on the string and run through the next 3mm bead of the next loop, place 1 - 8mm bead on the string and run the string through 3mm bead on the next loop, continue this pattern around and pull tight to form the bell cap.
Make three more rounds of bead loops and 8 mm beads, which will give you 4 rounds in all.
To make the 5th round, thread onto the needle one oat bead, one 8mm bead and one oat bead (the 8mm bead takes the place of the 3mm bead). Continue around, then string 1 - 8mm bead between each of these 8mm beads. (There will be 12 - 8mm beads around the bottom of the bell).
To make bead caps around the outside of the 8mm beads, thread five 3mm on the needle, skip the first 8mm bead and run the needle through the next 8mm bead, thread on five 3mm and continue around. To put on a second round of 3mm beads, run the needle through the first 3mm bead of the five, place three 3mm beads on the needle and run the needle through the last 3mm beads of the five and on through 8mm bead and first 3mm bead of the next five and continue around to the starting point and tie.
Run the thread back up through the beads to the top of the bell and through one bead of circle at the top. thread on two 3mm beads, cross to opposite side (6 beads on each side) run needle through three beads on top of the circle. Place 2 more 3 mm beads on the string and cross to opposite side and around the string of bead circle and back through the closest bead of the two your just put on. The string will be in the center of the bell top, tie in the center. Drop the string and needle through the center of the bell, thread on eleven 3 mm beads, one 8mm bead and one 3mm bead, thread needle back through 8mm bead and all eleven 3mm beads and out through the top of the bell and tie.
Thread on one 8 mm bead, one oat bead, one 3mm bead, one oat bead, one 3mm bead and continue until there are 8 oats and 7 - 3mm beads, run needle back through the first 8mm bead. Bring other string to the center (threading through the beads) and tie the two strings together. Cut off at the knot.
