Pop Bottle Jack-O-Lantern

I saw this idea today, and it was really simple but still cute. I wish I had a picture for you, but you'll get the idea.
Take a 2 liter pop bottle. I would suggest filling it partially with sand to weight it down. Take a large men's white tube sock and dye it with orange RIT dye. Once that's dry, fit it over the bottle so the base of the bottle is in the toe portion of the sock. Next gather the top of the sock around the neck of the bottle. Tie a piece of twine or yarn around the neck to hold it in place. Then simply use some green acrylic paint to make the top into a stem and black to paint a face on the front.
Cute and easy enough for the kids to do. I'm actually considering finding a way to make them into luminaries to line the sidewalk for Halloween night. Any ideas?

Welllllll.... What about orange nylons or tights instead of the sock? so the light shows through better? also cut a little door (cut 3 sides or a square) in the back so you can insert the candle, and leave the lid off the top, so it gets the oxygen it needs for the candle to stay lit?

Thumbs up Good idea...

I'll have to try it and see if it'll work. Thanks, taybai!
