Arrow Icing Container Snowman Jar

By: Alexandra Bleicher

Turn an empty icing container into this frosty friend. He’d really like to hold you candy canes for you or store your pencils and markers in him. He’d also be great for wrapping a small present, just tuck the gift inside some tissue paper and then into this jar. Cost is under $2.00.

Finished size: 8 ½” tall

Crafting time: less than 1 hour.

Materials

Empty and clean, white icing container and lid
Craft foam scraps: orange and pink
Buttons: ½” black, two; 3/8” navy, three
Red plaid fabric scraps: 1 ½” x 18”; 9” x 6”
Black permanent marker
White 3-dimensional fabric paint
10” length of jute
Supplies: scissors, low temperature glue gun and glue sticks.

Instructions

Use picture as guide. Cut two 1” wavy edged circles for cheeks from pink foam and a 2” long carrot nose from orange foam.
Glue cheeks to left and right front of lid and nose between cheeks with tip pointing down and out. Glue the two black buttons above nose. Glue bottom edge of lid to inside front edge of jar.
Wrap 1 ½” wide fabric scrap around rim of jar tying into a knot on left side. Spot glue into place. Glue navy buttons down front of jar.
Fold one long edge of remaining fabric scrap under 1”, secure with glue and repeat one more time to create hat cuff. With right sides together glue sides together, let cool. Turn hat right side out and place over snowman’s head. Glue into place. Tie jute around hat, approx. 1" from top, forming a bow at front.

Thanx Jalex!

I'm always looking for soming to do with my empty icing containers. Mostly I use them to hold my BINGO chips LOL, but now I have a new idea!
