Instructions:
GAUGE: 18 sts = 4 inches (10 cm) in single crochet. Be sure to check your gauge.
SIZE: 10 inches across top, 7 inches deep.
Start: Ch 11.
Rnd 1 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 8 ch, 3 sc in next ch; working along underside of foundation ch, sc in next 8 ch - 22 sts. Mark beginning of round.
Rnd 2 (Inc 1, sc, inc 1, 8 sc) twice - 26 sts.
Rnd 3 (Inc 1, sc, inc 1, sc, inc 1, 8 sc) twice - 32 sts.
Rnd 4 (Inc 1, sc, inc 1 , 2 sc, inc 1, sc, inc 1, 8 sc) twice - 40 sts.
Rnds 5 & 6 (and 37 & 38) Slip st around.
Rnd 7 (Inc 1, 9 sc) 4 times - 44 sts.
Rnd 8 (and all even rnds to Rnd 36) Sc around.
Rnd 9 (and all odd rnds to Rnd 35) Work as for Rnd 7, increasing the number of sc between increases by 1 each time - 100 sts. Fasten off.
STRAP: Ch 6, work 1 sc in 6th ch from hook and each ch around. Continue working in rounds of 6 sc until piece measures 20 inches, fasten off.
BUTTON: Ch 2.
Rnd 1 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
Rnd 2 2 sc in each st around - 12 sts.
Rnd 3 (Inc 1, sc) around - 18 sts
Rnd 4 Work even.
Rnd 5 (Dec 1, sc) around - 12 sts, insert button.
Rnd 6 (Dec 1) around - 6 sts, fasten off.
LOOP: Ch 3, dc in 3rd ch from hook, *ch 2, dc in space between ch-space and dc; repeat from * until work measures 6 inches. Fasten off.
FINISHING: Sew ends of Strap to sides of bag, securing 1 inch of strap to inside at each side. Attach button. Fold loop in half, secure ends and sew opposite button. Weave in all ends.

GAUGE: In St st-14 sts = 3"; 26 rows = 4" with larger needles.
CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge given.
With a smaller hook, ch 5; join with a sl st to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, 14 dc in ring; join with a sl st to top of ch-3.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st as joining, *2 dc in next dc; rep from * around; join - 30 sts.
Rnd 3: Rep Rnd 2 - 60 sts.
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same st as joining, * skip next 2 dc, 5 dc in next dc, skip next 2 dc **, sc in next sc; rep from * around, end at **,; join to first sc - 10 shells.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in first sc, * [ch 5, skip next dc, sc in next dc] twice **, ch 5, skip next dc, sc in next sc; rep from * around, end at **; (ch 2, tr) all in first sc to join and form last lp.

Instructions:
SIZE: Child's sizes 6 mos (12 mos, 18 mos, 2 yrs, 3 yrs). Finished width 12 (13, 14, 17, 18) inches without border across shoulders Length 12 (13, 14, 16, 17) inches.
GAUGE: 9¾ sts Body rib With RS facing, ch 2. Work hdc rib around entire poncho. Fasten off. Weave in ends. 18 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) on size 11 needles. Be sure to check your gauge.
STITCH EXPLANATIONS: M2 (Make 2) An increase made by lifting the horizontal thread lying between the needles and placing it onto the left needle. Knit into the back, then front of that strand.
To inc on RS row K into front and back of first st, then M2; cont to k into front and back of each st across row to last st; M2 in next strand between last st and next st, then k into front and back of last st. At end of next RS row, there will be 2 more sts.
PATTERN STITCH: Note Count sts at end of Rows 2 and 4.
Row 1 (RS) K into front and back of each st across (doubling amount of sts).
Row 2 K 2tog, *p2tog, k2tog; rep from * across.
Row 3 Rep Row 1.
Row 4 P2tog, *k2tog, p2tog; rep from * across.
Rep Rows 1-4 for pat st.
FRONT
Beg at bottom edge, holding two larger size needles tog (this allows for a loose cast on), cast on 25 (29, 33, 37, 41) sts. Work Rows 1 and 2 of pat st, then keeping to pat, inc 1 st each end on every RS row 4 (4, 4, 5, 6) times -- 33 (37, 41, 47, 53) sts. Mark last row. Work even in pat st for 10 (11, 12, 14, 15) inches, ending with Row 1 or 3.
Shape neck: Next row (RS) Work 11 (12, 13, 15, 17) sts, bind off center 11 (13, 15, 17, 19) sts, work rem 11 (12, 13, 15, 17) sts. Working both sides at the same time with separate balls of yarn, on next RS row dec 1 st at each neck edge - 10 (11, 12, 14, 16) sts each side. Work even until front meas ures 11 (12, 13, 15, 16) inches from beg, ending on a WS row.
Back: Next row (RS) Work 10 (11, 12, 14, 16) sts, cast on 13 (15, 17, 19, 21) sts, cont with first ball of yarn (dropping second ball) work rem 10 (11, 12, 14, 16) sts - 33 (37, 41, 47, 53) sts. Cont in pat st until back measures same as front to marker (before bottom incs). Dec 1 st at each end every RS row 4 (4, 4, 5, 6) times. When back measures same length as front, bind off rem 25 (29, 33, 37, 41) sts.
HOOD:
Holding two larger size needles tog, cast on 15 (17, 19, 23, 25) sts. Work in pat st for 15 (16, 17, 18, 19) inches, ending with pat Row 1 or 3. Bind off in pat as for Row 2 or 4.
BORDER:
With RS facing, using circular needle, pick up and k approximately 289 (319, 349, 394, 424) sts (making sure to have a multiple of 3 sts plus 1) around outer edge of Poncho beg at the shoulder seam, along side edge, across corner, along lower edge, across corner, along opposite edge, across corner, along lower edge, across corner, along opposite side edge.
Row 1 (WS) K 1, *yo, k 2, pass yo over the 2 k sts, k 1; rep from *.
Row 2 (RS) P 1, *k 2, p 1; rep from * across. Rep Row 1. Bind off as for Row 2.
FINISHING: Hood
Sew seam. With RS facing, using smaller straight knitting needle, pick up and k approximately 61 (64, 67, 70, 73) sts along long edge. Work as for Poncho border. Bind off in pat as for Row 2. Sew hood to Poncho, leaving center 11 (13, 15, 17, 19) sts free at front neck edge. Position the snaps for armholes, one on each side, approximately 4 ½ inches down from top, or as desired.

Gauge: 2 stitches and 3 rows = 1" in single crochet BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.
Bag
Chain 27. Row 1 Working into second chain from hook, work 26 single crochet, chain 1, turn. Work each row in single crochet until piece measures 18" from beginning. On last row make button loop as follows: work across 13 single crochets, chain 8, continue to end of row. Fasten off.
Finishing
Fold piece in half and sew or crochet together side seams.
Crochet strap
Make a chain 36" long. Attach strap to side seams at top of purse. Weave in loose ends and sew on button.
