Chamomile tea is safe and effective for children with sleep problems and is also said to be helpful for nightmares. Give 1 cup of warm chamomile tea 1/2 hour before bedtime. To camouflage and help dry up those nasty little spots, dab on a TEENY spot of calamine lotion. Blend the lotion by tapping it with my finger which helps it get in all the tiny nooks and crannies. Rubbing it just wipes it away. Let it dry thoroughly
(takes seconds) and then pat foundation and/or powder over the spot. Just be careful not to use too much because it can get flaky as it dries
I have found a great remedy for dry skin in the winter and also works great on feet. Take Crisco shortening direct from the can and rub onto legs and feet. Climb into a nice hot bath and soak. The heat from the water helps the crisco soak into your skin. When you get out, I put more on my hot feet and rub in as much as you can, then put on soaks and hop in bed. Works great! And---can't we all use a nice hot relaxing soak at this busy time of year
Baking soda mixed with shampoo strips the residue from your hair, but it also works
great if your baby develops cradle cap. Just mix a very small amount in their baby shampoo and wash as usual, then rub in just a touch of baby oil after you dry it. You'll begin seeing improvement immediately.
For shiny hair, rinse with cider vinegar; one half cup to every quart of water. If natural highlights are what you're looking for, use chamomile tea, or make your own rinse by steeping chamomile flowers in hot water, then strain. Remove build up caused by hair sprays and other products with a rinse of Witch Hazel. Whichever one you use, make sure you catch the liquid in a bowl if you want to rinse your hair more than once.

To lighten your yellow-looking nails, pour three capfuls of hydrogen peroxide into one-third cup of water and soak your fingers for two minutes. Then dip a toothbrush into the solution and brush your talons for a superclean finish. Next, massage both cuticles and nails with a cuticle oil that contains vitamin E (or use a vitamin E capsule). Wait two minutes, then completely remove the oil with a nonacetone polish remove. To prevent nail polish from staining your nails make sure you apply a base coat before applying color.
~Wrinkle treatment~ Take a vitamin C tablet (the strongest you can find) and dissolve it in 1/2 teaspoon boiling water. Let the water cool until comfortable to the touch. Add it to a small amount of eye cream and pat gently under the eye and around the mouth. Vitamin C is the only topical antioxidant that has been proven to prevent oxidation of tissue.
